Just a few minutes south of Houston is Pearland, a fairly popular and quickly growing suburban city. Contrary to its name, there are no actual pears in the area. However, there are tons of good restaurants to choose from. Whether you want some fairly priced sushi or delicious barbecue, Pearland will have what you’re looking for.

Sakura Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar

Whether you want to enjoy a hibachi dinner in front of a grill with your own personal chef or just come in for some sushi and cocktails, Sakura Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar is a Pearland favorite. Come in for Lunch Specials or their Happy Hour, where choice sushis are as low as $2.50. Happy Hour doesn’t just pertain to sushi: you can also choose from appetizers and select beverages. The Crunch Calamari roll is a great choice if you love cream cheese.

Grazia Italian Kitchen

The delicious menu here includes starters such as Spinach and Artichoke Dip served with fresh baked wood-fired flat bread, or Shrimp and Mango Ceviche. For a main, try the Mike & Jen Pasta (one of our favorites) or the Pasta Alla Vodka. If pasta isn’t your thing, you can also choose from select wood-fired pizzas or dishes made from the grill. Grazia also has a Sunday Brunch menu.

Killen’s Steakhouse

Killen’s Steakhouse is considered one of the best steakhouses in America. Purchasing top-quality meats from places like Allen Brothers of Chicago, there is no wonder why the steak dishes, from the Filet Mignons to the Ribeyes, are top-rated. The creamed corn, macaroni and cheese, and the Creme Brûlée Bread Pudding are also favorites on the menu.

Killen’s Barbecue

Killen’s Barbecue is a popular venue but the brisket (and everything else on the menu) is worth the wait. The restaurant doesn’t have a specific closing time, it’s just whenever the meat runs out. And trust us, the meat runs out…fast.

Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen

The first Gringo’s, also known as The Original, opened in Pearland in 1993. Now, this local favorite has 10 locations in nine different Texas cities. It’s their tasty Tex-Mex favorites, like their fajitas or their Baja BBQ Ribs Plate, and their selection of Margaritas that makes Gringo’s a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Guests can also indulge themselves with free soft serve ice cream; whether you want it before or after your meal (or even both) is up to you. There are two Pearland locations, The Original and the one located at the Pearland Town Center.

Central Texas Style BBQ

Central Texas Style BBQ has been serving flavorful smoked barbecue, homemade sides and desserts for over 40 years. You can tell the restaurant is very community-based as soon as you walk in. The space being heavily decorated with trinkets and family photos so you’ll feel right at home. Try the Baked Potato with everything and trimmings or the Bread Pudding.

Center Court Pizza & Brew

Center Court Pizza and Brew is the perfect place to go if you’re looking for delicious pizza and want a big selection of beer to go with it. Center Court is also a great alternative to Buffalo Wild Wings if you want to eat out and watch a sports game. Try the Ninja Turtle if you’re a pepperoni person or the Free Throw if you like meat and vegetables on your pizza. On Mondays you can get a large pizza with up to 11 toppings for $12.

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers

If you’ve never had Raising Cane’s, you’re missing out on some great chicken tenders. Not only the chicken tenders, but the Texas toast, the crinkle fries and the almost-addictive Cane’s sauce. This fast-food favorite will have you craving your next visit.

D’Caribbean Curry Spot

This family owned and operated restaurant gives residents authentic West Indian food that will take anyone’s taste buds on a trip to the islands. D’Caribbean Curry Spot serves traditional Caribbean dishes like roti wraps, Jamaican beef patties and jerk chicken. The restaurant also offers imported sodas and homemade drinks like peanut punch, soursop and mauby.
