The Most Instagram Worthy Treats in Dallas
Instagram is full of amazing dishes from novice foodies and expert chefs and, among all the posts, we couldn’t help but notice that Dallas is home to some pretty spectacular treats. From sushi donuts to milkshakes the size of the Magnolia Building, check out our list of the most Instagram-worthy treats in D-town and see how far you get before you jump in your car in search of some sugary goodness. We’re guessing not long.
Doughnut sandwiches at Milk & Cream
Ever heard of an ice cream sandwich? Forget what you remember, because Dallas’ Milk & Cream is introducing us to a whole new concept with its doughnut sandwiches. Here, you’ll choose a glazed or non-glazed doughnut and one of its many flavors of ice cream, which will then be placed between two doughnut halves as the buns. From there, you can choose to add toppings of cereal, chocolate or nuts. It’s a pretty amazing summer treat and a perfect addition to your Instagram feed.
S’mores at Halcyon
For many of us, s’mores are a nostalgic treat that still makes our mouths water when huddled around a campfire and someone pulls out a bag of marshmallows. Now, Halcyon, a coffee shop on Lower Greenville, is bringing that treat out of the wilderness and into the city. When ordering the indoor version of the dish at Halcyon, you’ll be provided with a tray of all of the classic s’mores fixings, plus a small fire burner and sticks to toast your marshmallows over. Easily feeding two to four people, these s’mores are made to share and made to Boomerang.
Freakshakes at Crème de la Cookie
They have a weird name, but it’s accurate because the Freakshakes at Crème de la Cookie are truly freakish concoctions. Served in a mason jar, these chocolate-infused milkshakes are topped with a mountain of sugary goodies including cupcakes, doughnuts, cookies, cake balls and brownies. These might give you a stomachache, but they’re guaranteed to make your followers jealous.
Almost anything at Sweet Daze Dessert Bar
Sweet Daze Dessert Bar is an Instagram fanatic’s dream because almost everything it serves up is fantastically photographable. Its soft-serve ice cream is swirled into a giant tower, topped with marshmallows or cereal, embellished with unicorn horns or fishtails and served in a hip, streamlined box. From its galaxy doughnuts made to look like the Milky Way to mermaid-tail doughnuts, the detailing of its designer doughnuts is simply insane. Last but not least, you’ll want to try its drink-and-cake combo, which combines fruity drinks like lavender lemonade with an entire piece of cake sitting right on top of the cup.
Sushi doughnuts at Earnest Donuts
There are some foods that should never mix, but the folks at Earnest Donuts like to break barriers. Enter: the sushi doughnut. Don’t worry, these doughnuts don’t have raw fish or spicy mayo. Instead, they’re regular ol’ doughnuts made with icing, designed to look like sushi placed in adorable sushi boxes. They even have edible chopsticks made from different flavors of Pocky and ginger made from Fruit By The Foot.
Fruity Pebbles ice cream sandwich at Coolhaus
There are ice cream sandwiches, cookie sandwiches, doughnut sandwiches and now at Coolhaus, Fruity Pebbles ice cream sandwiches. The Coolhaus food truck, often found at Klyde Warren Park, makes its way around Dallas serving this colorful and delicious ice cream sandwich that’s made with your choice of ice cream stuffed between two Fruity Pebbles and marshmallow squares. It’s a colorful concoction that’ll brighten up your feed while helping beat the Texas heat.
