Six Flags Over Texas
A classic theme park, but an ultimate goody. Located in Arlington, about 15 miles outside of Dallas, Six Flags Over Texas offers thrilling roller coasters, great entertainment, carnival-style games, and plenty of restaurants. From rides like the Titan and the Texas Giant for teens and adults to softer rides like Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters and Bugs Bunny Boomtown for toddlers and small children, there is something for everyone. Zero Gravity Amusement Park
Are you an adrenaline junkie with a need for speed? Get your fix at the Zero Gravity Amusement Park, an intense theme park that’s ideal for those looking for extreme fun! Try rides such as a bungee jump from a seven-story platform, a 130-foot-drop (40-meter-drop) free fall attraction, the Texas Blastoff (which is like a giant slingshot that will send you soaring 150 feet—46 meters—in the air at 70 mph—113 kmh—in only 1.2 seconds), and finally, the Skycoaster, which shoots you 110 feet (34 meters) in the air at 60 mph (97 kmh), and then you have to pull your own cord to release yourself! Adventure Landing Dallas
Adventure Landing Dallas is a smaller theme park with a variety of attractions for people of all ages. There are go-karts and 18-hole mini golf. Friends can have a fun round of laser tag or get a little wet with bumper boats. Try your luck at the batting cages where speeds range from 35–60 mph (56–97 kmh). In addition to a video arcade, there are also snack bars, in case you get hungry while having tons of fun.
Sandy Lake Amusement Park
Set in Carrolton, Texas, is Sandy Lake Amusement Park, a theme park with a variety of wholesome rides. They offer a few thrilling carnival-like rides, including the Tilt-A-Whirl, Space Shuttle, and Rock O Plane. Bumper cars and paddle boats are fun with friends or family. Some rides are a bit more relaxed, like a red train ride or a merry-go-round. There are even rides for your youngest children. If all that isn’t enough, there’s a pool, mini-golf, snack bars, and an arcade.
Celebration Station
Like some of the other amusement parks, Celebration Station in Mesquite, Texas offers batting cages, bumper boats, mini-golf, laser tag, and an arcade. However, they also have some unique rides, too. There’s the Eurobungy, an ultimate trampoline that can take you up to 24 feet (7 meters) in the air, as well as go-karts and a train for small children. One of their most popular features is the 10,000-square-foot paintball arena, where visitors dive, parry, and shoot each other with paintballs.
Legoland Discovery Center
Legoland Discovery Center is the ultimate amusement park for Lego lovers. Here, you’ll witness awesome displays of Lego ingenuity, created to reflect Dallas landmarks, and have opportunities to build and create with Legos. Kids will marvel at the 4D cinema and enthusiastically make their way through the ninja-themed obstacle course. There are three amusement rides that have magical kingdom themes, plus an outdoor water playground and Lego vehicle race. While Legoland Discovery Center is designed for kids ages 3–10, parents will absolutely have a blast here, too.
