Latin Bites

Latin Bites is a Peruvian restaurant located just outside of Houston’s Galleria area. Their Happy Hour offers wine, beer, cocktails, and a fruit-filled sangria that offers just the perfect amount of sweetness. The Kobe Tacos are made with ingredients such as Kobe short rib, mini corn tortillas, avocado aioli and sweet pickled green apples and cucumber. Never tried Peruvian food before? Latin Bites sure is a great introduction to a whole new world of flavor.

MKT Bar

For those of you craving a longer, and more alcohol-focused happy our, MKT Bar is for you. Located in downtown Houston, right next door to Phoenecia Specialty Foods, MKT Bar offers a hip environment to get your drink on while enjoying the atmosphere of downtown. They offer wine by the glass and local Houston beers such as Saint Arnold and Karbach, along with other lagers. If you get the urge to munch, don’t fear! They offer a couple of delicious bites as well, such as plantain chips and house za’atar fries. They also offer what they call a “reverse Happy Hour” on Saturdays – it’s basically the exact same as their regular Happy Hour, just at night.

Dish Society

Dish Society has some of the best beers, cocktails, and small entrees in the city of Houston. This restaurant-bar prides itself on fresh farm-to-table food and unique cocktails. One of their most delicious appetizers, goat cheese queso and pretzels, finds itself on the social hour menu. Another bonus is that almost everything on the social hour menu is only $5! Be sure to try their White Apple Sangria and pork belly bites.

Benjy’s

Benjy’s is one of the coolest spots in the city. Located in Rice Village, they offer a unique $6 cocktail menu, where you can even build your own drink! They also offer $5 wines, and an assortment of appetizers for you to enjoy. From the grilled Texas okra, to the quinoa veggie burger, everything on this menu is delicious. They even have several gluten-free items.

OKRA Charity Saloon

Located on Congress Street in downtown Houston, OKRA Charity Saloon is an amazing old-style bar with a great cause. For every drink purchased at the saloon, you are handed a ticket. With this ticket you get to vote for one of the four charities selected by the members at OKRA. The charities rotate monthly, and the charity with the most votes by the end of the month receives the proceeds. They have partnered with organizations such as PAWS Houston, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the HALO House just to name a few. As for food, they have delicious paninis, waffle fries with house-made condiments, and chocolate chip cookies with milk.
