Enjoy Engineered Beauty At AIA Sandcastle Competition

These aren’t your childhood sandcastles. At the 30th Annual AIA Sandcastle Competition, over 60 teams will create beautifully intricate sand sculptures to take home the Golden Bucket Award. Competitors include architects and engineers who have prepared their designs for months. Teams have five hours to create sand sculptures that are ranked based on difficulty, originality, artistic merit, carving technique, and incorporation of the building site. Aside from the grand prize, teams will compete for Best Cinematic, Best Architectural Icon, Best Meme and Houston-centric Design, Best Costume, and Public Favorite. Families are encouraged to bring picnics and asked to respect beach rules.

Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits.
