Since 2010, moonshine has been legal in the United States. Usually made with corn mash, it can be defined as a clear, unaged whiskey, and also goes by the names of mash liquor, white liquor, hooch, and white whiskey. Here’s where you can find moonshine in the Nashville area.

1. Smokin Thighs

Restaurant, American, BBQ

Specializing in chicken thighs and wings, Smokin Thighs is an applewood-smoked chicken restaurant. A few classic menu items are the Thighs in a Pile and the Loaded Smoked Chicken Nachos. The restaurant also offers a selection of craft moonshine cocktails with delicious flavor combinations. My Daughter Peaches mixes peach moonshine, orange juice, and triple sec. Moon Pie Float uses vanilla moon pie shine and root beer. There is also the option of making moonshine flights, which allows you to taste any six flavors of moonshine on the menu.

2. Loveless Cafe

The Loveless Cafe has been serving down-home cooking to Nashvillians for over 65 years. Some of its specialties include cornbread, fried chicken, and smoked beef brisket. But the restaurant also serves a few moonshine drinks for guests to enjoy. Corn n’ Coke is Coca-Cola and a moonshine sidecar. There’s also the Blue Moon, which combines blueberries, lemonade, Sprite, and a moonshine sidecar. The café is a great place to enjoy a glass or two of moonshine with classic Southern dishes.

3. Smith Creek Moonshine

Located at the Opry Mills shopping center, Smith Creek Moonshine is a distillery that has a tasting bar and retail store. It sells bottled moonshine, jams, sauces, and apparel. There are 13 moonshine flavors to choose from, including Apple Pie, Salted Caramel, Sweet Tea, and Strawberry Shortcake.

When you visit The Stillery, you’ll find a menu full of tasty items, including fresh salads, juicy burgers, and brick-fired pizzas. You’ll also find a selection of signature cocktails featuring a variety of moonshine flavors. Blackberry Lime combines Ole Smoky Blackberry Moonshine, lime, house sour, and lemon-lime soda. The Southern Peach mixes American Born Dixie moonshine with peach liquor, sweet tea, and house sour. And the Jack ‘Float’ is a delicious combo of Jack Daniels, vanilla moonshine, cherry, and cola.
