Since 1999, HoneyHole has been winning at the sandwich game. Partnering with local companies for the freshest ingredients and products, HoneyHole makes all of its sauces and soups in-house daily. Meats are roasted, grilled, and smoked in-house, and they cure their own pastrami. Despite their serious knowledge of meat, HoneyHole is also happy to offer vegetarian and vegan, as well as gluten-free, options.

Melding traditional Vietnamese cuisine with the spirit of the Pacific Northwest, Monsoon offers modern Vietnamese fare in a fresh, open space. Monday through Friday, patrons can even have their lunch delivered! This stylish, New American joint offers a varied array of dishes that all have one thing in common: as many sustainable, local, organic, and humane ingredients as possible. The interior of this trendy go-to is 90% recycled or repurposed, including furnishings and fixtures. For those who can’t resist taking home some leftovers, the take-out materials are all compostable too!

From a food truck in 2007, Skillet has expanded into four restaurants in Seattle and a catering business, distributing their Bacon Jam across North America. Throughout their evolution, Skillet has held to a chef-driven menu and atmosphere that provides comfort and originality with a personal touch.

Yes, Seattle also has great Mexican food. A UW graduate from Tijuana and his friend, who used to be a taquero (taco artisan) in Mexico City, started Tacos Chukis in 2011. Now, with two locations, including on Capitol Hill, they offer tacos, mulitas, baby burritos, quesadillas, tortas, nopal asado, and their house taco, tacos chukis.

Volunteer Park Cafe goes the extra mile to provide “always fresh goodness.” They have a garden in the backyard, which is available for an afternoon tour and provides herbs, vegetables, and eggs from their chickens for a real farm-to-table experience.
