For $75, you can bring your pet along, but they shouldn’t be left unattended in the room. A highlight is the yard, an outdoor space with games like Ping-Pong and a giant Connect Four, where you can relax with your pup around a fire pit. Rooms feature smart TVs, docking stations, board games and luxurious CO Bigelow products in the bathroom.

This pretty boutique hotel in the Theatre District does its best to make your pet feel at home. For a fee of $75, Hotel Spero welcomes your dog or cat with treats, waste disposal bags, a bed for your furry companion, as well as a list of pet-friendly trails, dog parks, pet stores, bars and restaurants. Pets must be attended at all times and leashed in public spaces. Make sure to call ahead to be assigned a pet-friendly room, and be “puppared” to enjoy your stay.

Rooms at Hotel Zelos are sumptuous, with pale shades of grey, washed-out pinks and soft blues. The hotel is also welcoming to your furry friend, who will be greeted by name on arrival and treated to a dog bed as well as food and water bowls. You will also get a “pet in my room” sign for the door. Discounted rates with Wag are available. A cleaning fee of $75 will be charged.

Hotel Zoe is happy to welcome your pets like family. A $75 fee is charged, with an additional $100 for stays longer than seven days. There are plenty of sights to see while strolling along Fisherman’s Wharf with your pooch, but, if they need some grass under their paws, head to the nearby Aquatic Park. The hotel has a secluded open-air courtyard to relax in, with warming fire pits that are lit in the evening. Tea and coffee can be enjoyed in the lobby in the mornings.

Originally a 1950s motor lodge, Hotel Del Sol has now been refurbished into a family- and pet-friendly boutique hotel. It surrounds a courtyard with fairy light-covered palm trees, hammocks and a heated outdoor pool. Amenities include bike rentals, a movie library and a complimentary Grab-n-Go continental breakfast box. Families can bring up to two pets and sign a pet agreement upon arrival.

Hotel Proper charges a $100 pet cleaning fee, but what makes this easier to bear is that 10 percent get donated to the Best Friends Animal Society. Up to two dogs are allowed with a maximum weight of 35lbs (15.9kg), but, unfortunately, no cats or other animals are permitted. Your pup will receive in-room feeding bowls and yummy treats. The hotel itself has a slight Alice in Wonderland feel, with clashing prints and colors, quirky mirrors and artworks.

Hotel Vitale, Downtown

Hotel Vitale is perfectly located for you and your furry buddy. It is two blocks away from two popular dog parks, Sue Bierman and Rincon Park, and Woodland Pet Store can be reached via a 10-minute walk. A cozy dog bed, a water bowl and dog food are provided in the room. $10 of the $75 pet fee are donated to Copper’s Dream Rescue. The warm sunshine-yellow and beige-toned rooms have waterfront views of the Bay Bridge or the San Fran skyline.
