Peacock Alley first opened its doors in 1933 and is North Dakota’s oldest bar and restaurant. Take a seat in its sprawling bar and try one of its award-winning martinis; there are 18 different types to choose from including the espresso martini, the Peacock Alley’s most popular tipple.

Laughing Sun Brewing Co

Pub, American, Pub Grub

Laughing Sun Brewing Co is one of Bismarck’s best destinations for fans of craft beer. Located in downtown Bismarck’s historic Laskin Building, the cozy 65-seat pub hosts live music most evenings while serving signature brews. Outside, there’s a small patio perfect for sampling a beer or two with friends when the weather is warmer.

Sickies Garage

Sickies Garage is your best bet for a fun, laid-back night in Bismarck. With 50 brews on tap, ranging from big name domestics to plenty of craft brews from across the USA, including a few locally brewed ales, for the aficionado, Sickies Garage is a refuge for beer lovers. 40 Steak & Seafood opened its doors in 2014 as an upscale surf ‘n’ turf bistro and boasts one of the most unique interiors in Bismarck. Each of 40 Steak & Seafood’s five dining rooms feature themes dedicated to North Dakotan history from the Cattleman’s Room, to the Governor’s Room, but for drinks alone, head to the Rusty Nail Lounge. With its roaring fireplace and rustic feel, it’s a cozy spot to enjoy the bar’s 130+ bourbons, whiskeys and scotches.

Humpback Sally’s

Humpback Sally’s specializes in tempting tapas-style food served up alongside cocktails, beer and wine in a cozy, quaint space in the heart of downtown Bismarck. Humpback Sally’s libations include seasonal cocktails, signature concoctions and new twists on old classics. A visit to Humpback Sally’s is a kind of a two-for-one: its sister bar, Lüft, a high-end joint with a heated rooftop garden and even more craft beers and cocktails, is located just upstairs.

Blarney Stone Pub

Blarney Stone Pub is a lively, welcoming joint opened in 2009 in downtown Bismarck. Beer fans won’t be disappointed with 30 draft beer selections and a number of cocktails and wines are served too. Happy hour takes place twice most days and all day on Sundays with plenty of discounted drinks and food.

The Pond at Lucky Duck’s

Deli, Restaurant, American

The Pond at Lucky Duck’s is perfect for a fun night out with friends. Try domestic beers and a good number of craft beers from the likes of Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery and Colorado’s Boulder Beer, or choose from one of The Pond’s signature cocktails such as the Pond’tini, a blueberry-infused martini.

Reza’s Pitch

For cold beer, great burgers and sports, look no further than Reza’s Pitch. The popular sports bar boasts a good number of domestic and craft beers on tap, including locally brewed offerings from the likes of Bismarck’s own Laughing Sun Brewing Co and Bird Dog Brewing in neighboring Mandan. It also features eight big screen HDTVs regularly showing football and soccer games.

Broadway Grill & Tavern

A classy restaurant specializing in New American cuisine, Broadway Grill & Tavern also features an elegant bar serving specialty cocktails, mouthwatering martinis, fine wines and a variety of beers. Select a few plates from Broadway Grill & Tavern’s tempting bar menu, featuring dishes such as deviled eggs, grilled bison lettuce wraps and beef carpaccio bruschetta.

The Toasted Frog

The Bismarck branch of The Toasted Frog opened in 2010 and has been delighting local diners with its eclectic food and drinks ever since. Its interior is industrial-chic, exposed brick and ductwork, wood floors and low-hanging lights and boasts a laid-back, welcoming ambience. There are plenty of domestic, craft and imported beers to choose from alongside an extensive list of international wines.
