Nap in the City at The Dreamery, Casper's New Sleep Lounge
Although you could hardly call it a trend, sleep is certainly having its moment in wellness. New York City has a hotel with a sleep concierge, and now a second pay-as-you-snooze spot, courtesy of Casper.
The Dreamery is a sleep experience situated in SoHo, where fatigued shoppers and office workers can drop by for a 45-minute rest in exchange for $25 (£19.18).
The space is thoughtfully designed and Instagram-ready, of course. An arched entrance lit with twinkling LEDs leads visitors to the check-in and hangout area, serving free coffee. Also on the menu board: complimentary bedhead and pure joy.
In the locker room guests can change, freshen up and secure their belongings before proceeding to the nap lounge—a room full of comfortable, spherical sleep nooks hidden behind heavy curtains.
Each private nook comes complete with Casper’s mattresses, pillows and sheets, plus every visitor gets face wash from luxe beauty brand Sunday Riley, toothbrushes and vegan toothpaste from Hello, and silky constellation-print pajamas on loan from Sleep Jones.
“The Dreamery is about making sleep and rest a part of our regular wellness routines—similar to how many people prioritize a workout class,” Neil Parikh, co-founder and COO at Casper, says in a statement. “The concept enables us to pilot new ways of bringing better sleep to more people and to more places—whether that’s here, the workplace, airports, or beyond.”
At around the same cost as a yoga class, and with its own host of benefits—from increased alertness to enhanced performance—a nap at The Dreamery is a convenient way to get an energy boost whenever you need it.
