From sommelier-curated wine selections on the Strip to a wine cellar in a casino, get ready to experience Las Vegas through the expansive wine selections that can be found in the city’s bars and restaurants.

Despite Las Vegas being a city with a large drinking scene, a law previously made it illegal for counties with more than 100,000 residents to operate a winery in the city. Since the law was lifted in 2015, Las Vegas has transformed its wine supply with the opening of its very own winery – a welcome addition to its robust roster of wine bars.

Aureole

Located inside the Mandalay Bay hotel, Aureole is an award-winning restaurant with an impressive wine menu. Famous for its 3,000-strong list that includes pairings for menu items, the venue is known for being one of the best wine restaurants in the world. Stop by the wine table on your way in to see the rotating selection of wines by the glass, or have the ‘wine angels’ dressed in silver ascend and descend via cables to pluck individual bottles from a four-story wine tower.

Mordeo

Las Vegas’s Chinatown is one of the hottest culinary neighborhoods in the city. In addition to dumplings, dim sum and other Asian delights, you’ll find Mordeo, a wine bar with Latin American, Spanish and Japanese influences. Head sommelier Luis de Santos is at the helm of Mordeo’s wine list, which includes everything from Spanish wines to sake and sangria. Pair your wine with some ceviche or charcuterie and marvel at the wine bottle selection behind the glass wall that adorns the bar.

Bin 702

Bin 702 has been a mainstay of open-air dining and shopping mecca Downtown Container Park since the popular Fremont Street destination opened in 2013. Despite its simple exterior, the buzzing bar invites you into a fun space serving affordable wines, especially during happy hour. Pair your wine selection with one of Bin 702’s signature mini-grilled cheeses that include unique ingredients like Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, fig jam and lobster. The nearby fire-breathing mantis art installation (yes, really) is a nice bonus.

EDO Gastro Tapas and Wine

Chef Oscar Amado Edo’s lively restaurant in Chinatown features a Spanish tasting menu with lots of Iberico pork and fresh oysters, plus an eclectic wine list with options from Spain, France, Germany and California. With a colorful interior influenced by Spanish culture, the restaurant invites its guests into a world filled with great ambience and good wine.

Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar

Venture off the Strip to Paradise Road and you’ll be rewarded with sumptuous Italian fare and a wine cellar that’s stocked with offerings from Italy and California. The wine list at Ferraro’s is 72 pages long and includes a vast Nebbiolo selection along with excellent Barolos and Barberas. While dining, guests can enlist the help of wine experts Paolo Uccellatori and Gina Ferraro to navigate the expansive wine list.

La Cave

Situated inside the Wynn Hotel amid the bright lights and blaring music of the Strip, hidden retreats such as La Cave feel all the more magical. Decorated with earth-colored furnishings, the wine bar has 250 selections by the bottle and 50 by the glass. You can sip in the cellar or bring your glass to a sweeping patio that features lush views of the hotel gardens and pool. Try a wine flight of two-ounce pours divided into categories for lovers of sparkling wine, fruit-forward wine, California wine and European varietals.

Picasso

You don’t need to travel to Spain to drink wine with Picasso; just head to the Bellagio. Here, you’ll find the fittingly named Picasso restaurant, which offers cuisine from lauded chef Julian Serrano, a wine list that’s won Wine Spectator’s Grand Award and 25 works by Pablo Picasso himself, valued at $250 million. Pull up a seat at the bar, choose from 1,600 selections of wine and gaze at the art history right in front of you.

Wine Cellar and Tasting Room

A wine cellar inside a casino? You better believe it. The Wine Cellar and Tasting Room at the Rio Hotel is home to about 3,000 bottles, including 100 wines by the glass. The venue alone is worth a visit. Featuring vaulted ceilings, stone walls, dim lighting and overstuffed leather sofas, this is a place that will make you forget that there are slot machines nearby. Opt for a wine and cheese pairing and learn about rare selections from the knowledgeable sommeliers.

Vegas Valley Winery

As the only winery in town, the Vegas Valley Winery has shown skeptics that grapes can indeed grow in the barren Nevada desert. Located 20 minutes off the Strip, the winery offers an exciting winemaking experience for solo visitors as well as bigger groups. Settle in at the wine lounge and enjoy a tasting of five one-ounce pours, tour the grounds or pair a glass of wine with a cupcake from Vegas Virtue & Vice Bakery. If you like what you taste, you can buy a bottle to take home with you.

Double Helix Wine and Whiskey Lounge

Las Vegas locals often forgo the hustle and bustle of the Strip in favor of Town Square. This outdoor shopping and dining center is home to Double Helix Wine and Whiskey Lounge, where you will find a spacious outdoor patio. With 60 wines by the glass and a brunch menu that includes a choice of bottomless rosé, Aperol spritzes, mimosas, red sangria or bloody marys, the venue is an ideal place if you’re looking for endless options. Pair your wine of choice with a giant Oreo pancake or chicken and waffles topped with habanero pineapple syrup and live your best life.
