The Depot
Located right in downtown Reno, The Depot is a trendy bar that was remodeled from an old train station. The decor builds on the existing space and combines it with modern elements creating a cool, but calming ambiance. The Depot is also a brewery and a distillery so the beer on tap is plentiful and varied. The food is also celebrated, in particular the popular Depot burger.
The Brewer’s Cabinet
With a slightly rustic feel, The Brewer’s Cabinet is a small but cozy, bar located in midtown. It boasts a spacious and charming patio for outdoor seating, and the Sunday football is always on. Brewer’s Cabinet offers anything from full meals to bar snacks, but is especially known for its great burgers. More importantly, there is an expansive selection of local beer for anyone wanting to try what Reno has to offer.
Pignic Pub & Patio
Unlike any other bar, Pignic Pub & Patio offers a completely new experience. There is no kitchen; instead, an old house has been remodeled with the patio used to create a community grill concept. Customers have the option of bringing in their own food or can purchase meat there to grill themselves. All of this is in addition to the fully-fledged bar and sports parlor that Pignic & Patio provides.
Chapel Tavern
Located in midtown, Chapel Tavern has a vibe that is somewhere between hipster locale and dive bar. Although no food is served here, the variety of drinks is superb. The staff is knowledgeable and can assist in finding something new to try out, and there is a particular emphasis on whiskeys.
The Z Bar
Specializing in cocktails, The Z Bar really delivers. There is an extensive menu with all sorts of craft cocktails that are made with fresh ingredients behind the long bar lining the room. In addition to the bar, there is an outdoor seating area with a fire pit. Z Bar has excellent service, but doesn’t serve food, choosing instead to focus on its creativity in cocktail concoction.

Royce is a bar in downtown Reno that is was established with the intent of lingering visits. Although there is an expanded drinks menu, the main focus is on wine and whiskey, of which there is a multitude of choices. Royce offers a delicious food menu—of which the burger is a must-try—however, it is only served until nine in the evening. Perhaps one of the biggest draws of Royce is the cozy fireplace, which makes it even harder to leave.
