Oh to be young, fresh and single again. Or maybe you currently are? Either way, when you’re in your 20s, you’re always ready to do something new and exciting. Maryland is the perfect place to visit for young experiences, not only because of its perfect position of easy access to Washington D.C. and Virginia, but because there are so many unique things on offer.

1. Have a sushi dining experience

Sushi Q2 is a great place for a quick bite for a cultural fresh sushi experience. If you love freshly prepared sushi or never had sushi before, this is the place for you. The sushi fixed at this restaurant is creative in nature with fun and local names, such as the Owings Mills roll, the Newtown roll, or the Sushi Q appetizer. Sushi Q2’s soups are heartwarming and also contain tasty ingredients.

2. Time to go bar hopping

Power Plant Live! is full of people of all ages, all over the age of 21, who love to listen to live music, dance, and have drinks, while bar hopping throughout the evening. Power Plant Live! consists of a medley of bars and dining experiences that you’re able to visit throughout the course of one evening. You can start off with tequila shots at MEX and end the evening at the Angels Rock Bar with a rum and coke. As an added bonus, there are often live events and live music playing at various bars and places within Power Plant Live!.

Window shop along Fells Point

The Fells Point area is a historical area of Baltimore, Maryland, that has a variety of bars, specialty shops, and fresh seafood. Not only does the Fells Point area contain the oldest saloon in the city of Baltimore, but it’s lined with cobblestone streets, great burgers, plus boutiques where you can purchase unique items. Fells Point is also located near the official headquarters of Under Armour. The area is rich in history and old in architecture that is great to view as you’re walking along the streets.

Walk along the water down at the Inner Harbor

At the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, you will find a variety of waterfront restaurants and interesting places, such as the Rusty Scupper Restaurant & Bar, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, and a Barnes & Nobles bookstore equipped with a Starbucks coffee inside. The Inner Harbor of Baltimore isn’t a complete circle, however, there is a lot of space to walk around outside and overlook the water and the mini ships that are docked. There are also water activities and water taxis that you can ride as an added bonus while visiting. It’s an easy, free option to simply walk the perimeter of the Inner Harbor after a night out or if you’re in need of something different to do.

Blue Moon Café is the perfect spot for young people in their 20s to have an affordable brunch. At the Blue Moon Café, they specialize in Captain Crunch French Toast, which consists of thick pieces of french toast that are crumbled with Captain Crunch cereal. It’s topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream, or cream cheese; whichever you prefer. Coffee and a variety of juices are always made available, and this restaurant stays open 24-hours on the weekends for the after-party crowd and those who love to brunch late.

Artful Gourmet is the perfect, quaint little bistro which provides a variety of fantastic martinis and wine. If you’re feeling fancy or need a cozy place to go to for a happy hour, Artful Gourmet is the place. It’s a restaurant with a small bar at the side where you can casually watch sports while drinking a beer, or have a glass of wine with your girlfriends. Either way, the drinks are strong, good, and the staff are friendly.

On Sundays, the young people of Baltimore can be either found at the M&T Bank Stadium, watching the game in-person or in the comfort of their own homes screaming at the television live. It’s not a real Sunday if you don’t see everyone in Baltimore, wearing black and purple, representing their team.

Look for a home run at a Baltimore Orioles game

The Baltimore Orioles are the official baseball team of Baltimore, Maryland. It’s a great outing for young people around Baltimore to venture to as either part of a work outing or just to have something to do. The ticket prices are relatively cheaper than the tickets for football games, and Camden Yards, the official stadium which houses the Orioles, has many different bars and places to enjoy the game. Many bar hop before the game and grab a few beers before entering the stadium so as to begin the festivities earlier.

3. Take a moment for culture at the museum

The Walters Art Museum is the perfect place in order to gain an afternoon of culture and the relaxation of walking through a local museum that has free admission. This museum has a variety of interesting exhibits ranging from jewelry to European and Asian art pieces. An afternoon here is something to behold as you’ll not only see beautiful pieces of art, but you’ll be able to experience different cultures in one sitting.

4. Look out for sharks

At the National Aquarium, you’ll find many beautiful animals and exhibits that will make you feel as though you are underwater swimming with the fishes. This aquarium is a great way to spend an early morning before an afternoon class, or an interesting evening as this aquarium is located at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. Therefore, once you leave the aquarium, you can easily go for a walk around the Inner Harbor and explore and see what other things you wish to do for the evening. While in the National Aquarium, there are many exhibits that are educational, such as those on sharks, the tropical rainforest, and the coral reef.

The taxi takes you to downtown/Locust Point, Federal Hill, Canton, and Harbor East. All of these places are reachable via the water; therefore, all of the destinations that are on these various routes can easily be reached via the water taxi or simply walking there. However, by taking the water taxi around the city, it makes the ride there much more enjoyable.

At the Horseshoe Casino, you’ll find an amazing casino with tons of things to do while inside. You need to be 21-years-old in order to drink; however, there are many places to gamble, as well as eat inside of the casino. Once inside, there are many bars, which turn into nightclubs in the evening. It’s also a great way to kill time if you’re planning on having a full night out on the town; let the Horseshoe Casino be your first stop.

5. Go back in time at Medieval Times

At Medieval Times, you can expect to go back in time to the days of knights, jousting, and gigantic turkey legs. Medieval Times is located in Hanover, Maryland, near the Arundel Mills mall. This is a great place for young people in their 20s to spend time and shop. Once they’re finished walking around the mall, they can walk over to Medieval Times where they’ll enjoy a jousting tournament, experience medieval culture, all while making their evening a memorable event.

Experience an escape room at Breakout Games Baltimore. The latest craze and obsession is people attending breakout rooms with their friends and family. An escape or breakout room is a room that has a variety of clues and special tasks that you need to complete before time runs out for you to break out of that room.
