The Best Brunches In Downtown Los Angeles
Downtown Los Angeles isn’t all just businesses and hipster bars to enjoy at night. There are plenty of great daytime restaurants to try too. Some of the best in the city are tucked away in trendy spaces and corners of the busy streets. Head over for a fancy breakfast outing at one of the best venue in Downtown L.A.
Original Pantry Cafe
This classic diner doesn’t get any more authentic, and it’s famous for it. It’s well-known that it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In typical diner fashion, it certainly has a huge menu with great prices. Every dish they serve is hearty and indulgent, especially the fluffy pancakes drizzled with real maple syrup.
Eggslut
This little restaurant with the questionable name is located in the Grand Central market along with many other small food stands. However, it blew up because of its food-porn breakfast sandwiches served atop a fluffy brioche bun and dripping with cheese and bacon. Well worth the wait.
Poppy + Rose
Run by a married couple of chefs, this restaurant’s goal is to make comfort food with organic ingredients. Their menu feels a bit like a pub menu, but everything at the bar is nothing if not quality. The take on the traditional L.A. chicken and waffles is no different, and they even make their biscuits fresh in house every morning.
Bottega Louie
This is actually an Italian restaurant that is also curiously known for its colorful, highly photographed macarons. However, their brunch is also one of the chicest places to dine on the weekends for a high-class meal in their all-white, fancy interior. Try the puff pastries filled with salmon and chive cream cheese that just melt in the mouth so delectably.
Pitchoun Bakery
This awesome place rivals Porto’s in Burbank for the best pastries in Los Angeles, and that’s saying something. It’s a top-notch French-style bakery, and all the confections are absolutely beautiful. They serve a full menu, too, so come hungry and make sure to leave room to bring home many desserts.
Ktchn DTLA
This is a place that actually does pop-up locations around downtown. If patrons can find it, Ktchn DTLA offers unique twists on classic brunch items. Try the Tex-Mex brunch plates like the breakfast tostada or chilaquiles.
Little Sister
For a little something different, head to Little Sister. The Vietnamese restaurant is one of the best in the area, with pan-fried noodles and braised pork. Be warned, however, brunch doesn’t run on American time, ending before 11am.
