A food truck seeking to provide sweet treats to the people of Chicago, Beavers Donuts specializes in mini donuts with a wide range of toppings to choose from. Customers can pick anywhere from 4 to 35 donuts and then decide on regular or gourmet toppings. While the regular toppings of cinnamon, powdered sugar or chocolate are classics, the gourmet toppings are extraordinary, like Nutella with strawberry syrup, honey peanut butter and banana, or even chocolate, caramel and pecans, all piled on top of fresh donuts. The Tamale Spaceship

Previously named the best food truck by the Chicago Reader, The Tamale Spaceship offers a simple menu of authentic Mexican cuisine. Served by friendly and passionate staff wearing Lucha Libre masks, customers will have a fun time while they wait for their tamales. The menu contains a wide range of options for both vegetarians and meat-lovers alike, with pork, barbacoa chicken, vegetables and mushrooms or mole to choose from. Slide Ride

This bright pink truck is hard to miss when it’s pulled to the side of the road and ready to serve hungry customers. The Slide Ride has been in business for five years and proudly serves a selection of sliders to the public. Customers can choose between sriracha buffalo chicken or the bacon baby burger, among others for a delicious and savory lunch, that makes people return again and again. Babycakes

Babycakes provides sweet and savory gourmet pancakes to those who can’t decide between the two mouthwatering options. The flavors change regularly, as Chef Leah has perfected over 250 different recipes and wants to share them all with Chicago. Some of the sweet pancakes include flavors such as Creme Brûlée, baked Alaska or salted caramel, while the savory are more complicated with combinations of chorizo and potato, Wisconsin harvest (showcasing delicious Wisconsin cheddar) or a meaty cheese steak. This blue truck, complete with blue flamed accents, brings to Chicago exactly what every city needs, Southern style barbecue in a quick and convenient fashion. Customers have their choice of meat; pulled pork, brisket or, for, vegetarians, portobello. They are then given the option to enjoy it on bread or without, and then to pair it with one of the many Southern comfort food sides; sweet potato fries, hush puppies, baked beans and even fried Oreos.
