The Best Pizza Parlors In Honolulu
As the capital of Hawaii, Honolulu is steeped in culture. The Waikiki neighborhood in particular is famous for its crescent-shaped beach, the volcanic Diamond Head, and for its thriving nightlife and food scene. Below, we’ve made a list of the best places to get the best pizza in Honolulu.
Doughlicious Pizza
Restaurant, American
Doughlicious is a tiny, homely restaurant that will even deliver your pizza to the nearest bars. The owners are an incredibly hardworking couple, who serve up the most scrumptious of pizzas. The toppings are incredible and the cheese is melted to perfection. Expect to wait at Doughlicious, but it will be worth it and as soon as you sit down they’ll bring you a jug of ice cold water.
The Lovin Oven
With a small number of staff, you can expect to wait for your pizza at The Lovin Oven, but you will be so glad you did. The sauce is tangy, and the cheese is spectacular. They offer thin crust pizzas only so if you are looking for a thick crust, try elsewhere. A cozy pizza parlor, The Lovin Oven only takes cash so keep that in mind before you head over. Another heads up, their policy on alcohol is bring-your-own-beer, so take a bottle of beer or a can of soda to complement your pizza.
JJ Dolan's
Bar, Pizzeria, Pub, Irish, Fast Food, American
Expect to find handcrafted pizzas and handcrafted drinks here. At JJ Dolan’s, customers can treat themselves to the famous pizzas, complete with a thin crust and numerous toppings. Renowned for doing one of the best white pizzas on the island, JJ Dolan’s is certainly a pizza parlor you can’t miss. The serving size is huge, so ordering just one between two to share would be recommended. If you are looking for something lighter, they do have a pizza by the window. They don’t take reservations and do get quite busy, so do expect to have a short wait.
North Shore Farms
Farm Shop, Farmers' Market, Market, Vegetarian, Healthy
At just over six dollars a slice, this pizza is not cheap but it is worth every penny. On a Saturday morning, head over to the North Shore farmers market and try the stellar pesto pizza. The dough is generously smothered with a layer of homemade pesto, and then covered in warm mozzarella, topped with local tomatoes. Cooked until the pizza is golden and crispy, the pizza may not be traditional but it is definitely one of the best in Honolulu.
Amina Pizzeria
If you’re looking for pizza, pasta dishes and more, Amina Pizzeria is the place to go. Despite its appearance, described as a little hole in the wall, Amina serves the best Italian food in Honolulu. Besides the pizza, which has been cooked to perfection, stuffed to bursting point, the calzones come highly recommended. The seating area is small and there isn’t any air conditioning, so takeout would be your best option to enjoy the tasty food at Amina.
