It wasn’t luck that got John where he is today, rather trial and error. He earned the respect of other brewmasters and landed an internship at Cigar City Brewing. He became a staple in the craft beer community, winning multiple competitions, and was one of the first brewmasters to utilize a crowd-funding campaign to raise $55,000 for his own brewery. After hard work, dedication and perseverance, J Wakefield Brewing opened in January 2015. John aims to make quality beers that don’t always fit the norm, such as the Miami Madness. The bar’s decor features wall-length murals of Star Wars characters and comic book lithographs.
