The Best Bars In Colorado Springs

A night out in Colorado Springs means plenty of craft beer and whisky, a few games of bingo, and live performances of smooth jazz. Keep in mind that most places close early, but the happy hours are hard to beat, so you may want to show up to the bar before dinner, not after. We list some of the best spots to head for.

Jack Quinn’s Pub

Jack Quinn’s Pub offers several beers on tap, but unlike most brewhouses, they mix a lot of their beers together. Try a Black and Tan, a Black and Brown, or a Black and Gold and you’ll reconsider how you’ve been enjoying beer. Jack Quinn’s does more than beer; the bartenders have a wide selection of American and Irish whiskey, and plenty of Scotch to boot.

McCabe’s Tavern

McCabe’s Tavern may seem like just another Irish bar, but once you walk in and feel the local excitement, you’ll know it’s much more than that. McCabe’s has several beers on tap, ranging from the classics like Bud Light to craft brews such as New Belgium and Left Hand. McCabe’s often hosts musicians and game nights, so you’ll rarely find the bar empty.

Underground Bar and Grill

Underground Bar and Grill is all about games and fun. In fact, the bingo and the poker draw more crowds than the awesome nightly specials: on Wednesdays after 10pm, pay $10 and have as many well drinks as you like. Underground is a popular bar for anybody and everybody, and don’t forget that it’s also a gay bar. There are drag shows on Friday with mini-games and great prizes.

Golden Bee

The bars in Colorado Springs tend to be straightforward and little lacking in creativity. This is not so at the Golden Bee at the beautiful Broadmoor resort, which has a fully stocked bar with a few quality cocktails and a surprisingly long list of creative shandies. Try the Pomelo Cure, which is made with Fuller’s IPA, Tanqueray, and grapefruit.

The Rabbit Hole

The Rabbit Hole is a trendy little bar and restaurant that serves amazing craft cocktails, offers over 20 beers both draft and bottled (as well as some rare brews), and a full wine list. What’s not to like? Stop by between 4-6pm for the Happy Hour, where every appetizer is 50 per cent off and wines, wells, and drafts are only $3.

Back East Bar & Grill

Back East Bar & Grill is yet another great spot to try some of Colorado’s famed craft beer. They have fine selection of beers on draft that are constantly being updated, and they carry over 20 different varieties bottled. Back East is great place to meet with friends, watch the game, have a few drinks, and share a few snacks.
