It’s no secret that Bostonians love their local sports teams, and the excitement around the city is palpable any time the New England Patriots reach the Super Bowl. This Sunday, February 4, 2018, the team will be battling for its sixth title. While Belichick, Brady, and company are busy preparing their game plan, local fans are making an important decision of their own: where to get the best food for the big game. Here are some of Boston’s best restaurants to get some grub for Super Bowl Sunday, whether you want to eat in or takeout.

Salvatore’s

Pizzeria, Restaurant, Italian, Contemporary

Beginning at 6 P.M. on game day, dine-in guests will be able to take advantage of Salvatore’s ultimate Italian dinner deal. For just $14.99, they will be able to eat to their heart’s (and stomach’s) content, feasting on endless pasta, pizza, wings, and sausage. Plus, with televisions all over the bar and restaurant areas, the game will be hard to miss.

Common Ground

This place in the Allston Village section of western Boston is a neighborhood favorite for its live music nights, weekly trivia, and its classic bar fare. As if their ample craft beer selection wasn’t enough, for the Super Bowl, Common Ground is running a special on their chili, chicken taquitos, and, of course, wings for just 75 cents apiece. How can you watch the Super Bowl without wings? Two large projectors will be set up ready for kickoff.

Naco Taco

Restaurant, Mexican

What’s better than one taco? If your answer is “an all-you-can-eat taco buffet,” then this Cambridge establishment is where you’ll want to be for the game. With big projectors and multiple TVs, you’ll be able to catch every moment of the game from any corner of the restaurant while filling your plate with endless wings, sliders, and more, including a build-your-own taco bar. If this sounds like where you want to be, make sure to buy the $40 ticket in advance, since only a limited number is available.

Clerys

Restaurant, Bar, American, Pub Grub

A quick walk from Back Bay’s Copley Square, Clerys is a popular pub for after-work drinks. With a ticket to their Super Bowl party, guests will get a table for their party, a wings platter, and one beer. Can you pack away those wings? Sign up for the wing-eating contest to compete for a sports prize pack. Plus, you’ll get your name on the wing trophy, which is the real prize.

Cask ‘n Flagon

Located across the street from Fenway Park, this is Boston’s premier sports bar. Though it’s best known as a hub for Red Sox games, it’s still a great place to watch the city’s other teams take on the competition. For in-house viewers, $20 gets you a great deal on the tornado potato skewers, which are drenched in bacon and cheese sauce, plus a bucket of Coors Light. There are also takeout options available for groups of 8–10 or 16–20 people, which is perfect if you plan to entertain guests for the game.

Gyu Kaku BBQ

Restaurant, Japanese, BBQ

With two locations in Harvard Square and Brookline, Gyu Kaku has become one of Boston’s best spots to grab Japanese-style BBQ. What’s really exciting about eating here is that diners get to cook food on grills built into the tables. On Sunday, the restaurant will offer an all-day happy hour special on meat and bibimbap, with deals starting at just $3 a platter.

Canary Square

Bar, Restaurant, American

This Jamaica Plain eatery hosts an annual Super Bowl party, and this year’s version is shaping up to be one of the best. How could it not be with a $20 all-you-can-eat buffet? With delectable options like health-conscious taco salad, build-your-own nachos, wings, and more, you do run the risk of eating so much that you sleep through the second half!

Redbones

Restaurant, BBQ, American

More proof that Boston is better at BBQ than it gets credit for, Redbones has built its reputation on serving savory ribs and having an extensive beer menu. Don’t know what beer you want? The bar’s got a wheel-of-fortune-style selection method, so test your luck and see what brew chance has in store!

The Smoke Shop, located in Kendall Square, Cambridge’s trendy tech hub near the campus of M.I.T., is a go-to joint for Southern barbecue. With four TVs hooked to surround sound audio, you’ll be able to see and hear every second of the game. Plus, there’s a pool with prizes during each quarter of the game to make it even more exciting. You’ll have to buy tickets to attend, so be sure to take advantage of either the $29 dining room seats or the $49 bar seats. If you’ve got a large group, you can book the owner’s box package, which includes private TVs and a chef’s special spread, all for $79 per person.

Legal Sea Foods

Restaurant, Seafood, Contemporary

With locations all around the city, Legal has become somewhat of a local institution, well known for its fresh, delicious aquatic fare. What better way to cheer on the Patriots than by having a bowl of its famous New England clam chowder? If you take advantage of their Super Bowl takeout specials, you’ll be able to get $12 half gallons of the chowder, in honor of Tom Brady’s jersey number. There are plenty of Legal locations in Boston and the surrounding area.
