Woman Terrified of Flying, Brings Emotional Support Duck on Plane
And no, this is not fake news.
We’ve all got our phobias, and we all have our very own unique ways of coping with them. From chewing gum to crushing the bae’s hand during take off and landing, there are several ways to beat the fear of the unknown, but a support duck? Original.
Yes, Daniel the Duck (cute) recently became quite the social media celebrity on a flight from Charlotte to Asheville back in October – so popular in fact he’s started trending again. Sporting a rather dapper Captain America diaper and some fabulous red shoes, author Mark Essig captured the surreal experience on his Twitter account.
Just look at how adorable he is…

So why was this quack on board? Buzzfeed told the world that according to his owner: ‘Daniel is four-years-old and was bought by his owner at a yard sale’. According to Essig, who asked Daniel’s human oodles of questions during the flight, his keeper ‘kissed him on the beak several times and held his beak gently when he quacked a lot during the flight.’ And according to the Asheville Citizen-Times, Daniel’s quacks helps keep his owner calm during flights as she suffers from PTSD.
All we know is that we want a Daniel in our lives..
