There are good gifts and there are bad gifts, but ladies and gentleman, there is also one gift that is an absolute ‘no’ everywhere in the world!

When it comes to Christmas presents, almost anything goes. From books or clothing to jewellery or gift cards, there are a multitude of options at every budget that are thoughtful, lovely and socially acceptable to boot.

However, if there is one thing that is never okay, no matter where you’re from or who you’re giving it to – and it’s the dreaded re-gift.

This is a firm rule, folks.

A re-gift, or a gift given to you which you then re-wrap and pass on to someone else, is the worst possible gift on the planet, ever. I don’t care how nice it is, you didn’t buy it, and therefore to give it to someone else is one of the crudest insults around both to the person who gave it to you and to the person you are passing it on to.

We get it, sometimes you receive items that you really don’t want, but in that you have a multitude of options. You can return them, exchange them, sell them or donate them to charity. But whatever you do, do not re-gift!
