Aurora is an Illinois city bursting with life, especially bar life. Aurora’s bar scene is thriving from cocktail bars to dive bars and dance clubs. A night out in Aurora is well worth getting intoxicated over. Here are some of the best bars in town for you to try.

The Town Bar & Grill

The Town Bar has a warm atmosphere, cool cocktails, and some of the tastiest wings in town. There are also so many weekly specials to take advantage of. Mondays are 75 cent wing night and Wednesdays are $1 Miller Lites. Go on Friday for $5 Belvedere cocktails or during brunch hours for tasty Bloody Marys!

Black Door Aurora

Looking to dance in Aurora? Look no further than Black Door. This club is bouncing with cocktails and drinks specials every night, and live DJs pumping music that moves your body to the beat. Get dressed up with your friends and come to Black Door for a night you’ll never forget… or maybe you will if you party right!

The Foundry

Bar, Restaurant, American

Beers, sports, and stogies collide at The Foundry in Aurora. This is the place to go to play games, gamble, and drink the night away with friends. There is OTB, shuffleboard, pool tables, volleyball, trivia, and even an indoor tobacco shop and lounge. The Foundry is like an adult’s playground right here in Aurora. This is a great place to go for a celebration like a bachelor party, birthday, or any reason to drink and game.

Stoney’s Tavern

Bar, American

What’s not to love about a local neighborhood bar? We adore Stoney’s Tavern for being the classic dive-bar that Aurora needs. If you want no-frills beer and good company, then Stoney’s Tavern is the place to spend an evening shooting the breeze. Careful, you could lose an entire day hanging out by the bar and chatting with the friendly bartenders over Old Styles. Come watch a Blackhawks game during hockey season and celebrate with a shot every time the team scores!

Two Brothers Roundhouse

Pub, Restaurant, American, Contemporary

Take the Metra to Aurora and you barely have to walk a few steps to get to the Two Brothers Roundhouse. This expansive building was built in 1856 and still stands today as a peculiar round building next to the train tracks. Two Brothers brews unique beers onsite and offers a lot of entertainment. Music, comedy and plenty of parties happen here on a nightly basis. If you’d like to have a big space for an event like a party or even a wedding or reunion, Two Brothers offers plenty of space and craft brews for exactly those needs. Come for local stand up comedy and good beers on Thursday nights at 8 p.m., or stop by during weekend nights for local live music. Any day you come to Two Brothers is guaranteed to be entertaining.

Luxies Club

Bar, American, European

Luxies Club is an institution in Aurora. It sits in the basement of a building constructed in 1917 as the American Luxembourger Club that was founded by German-Americans to celebrate their heritage. Today the place is much more diverse and open to anyone with a membership. A membership includes drink prices, gambling, and more. They also boast the best Friday Fish Fry in town, so maybe it’s worth buying a $40 membership to Luxies Club.

O’Malley’s Pub & Eatery

Bar, Irish, American, Pub Grub

O’Malley’s Pub & Eatery has some of the best pub grub in Aurora. Wings, fried foods, pizzas, and burgers pair perfectly with laid-back beers in this classic joint that has been going strong in Aurora since 1974. Trivia, darts, and pool keep people entertained at O’Malley’s, but if you’re more intent on watching the game then O’Malley’s has you covered. The bar recently added 24 flat screen TVs so that no one has to miss a game while chowing down on hot wings.
