Rittenhouse Square is one of Philadelphia’s most upmarket neighborhoods, and many of its local hotels come with facilities to match, yet at affordable rates. While every Kimpton hotel offers a distinct story, the Hotel Palomar is unique, with its theme of Art in Motion. The stunning Art Deco design adds to the grandeur of the landmark 1929 building, with modern boutique accents. Accommodations include in-room spa treatments and a 24-hour fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment, yoga mats and personal trainers upon request. Guests can take advantage of their evening wine offerings and then relax with warm, modern rooms, and keep in mind the hotel is also pet-friendly.

Right on the square that gives the neighborhood its name, the Rittenhouse Hotel is filled with old-school glamour and charm. Hotel rooms are spacious and elegant, with stunning marble bathrooms and plush beds with pillow-top mattresses. Specialty features include overnight shoe shining and spa packages. Although the stay is pricy, the fine dining at the Lacroix Restaurant is well worth the splurge.

The Sofitel Philadelphia combines French flair with American style, and the vast suites include chic modern furniture along with a feathertop SoBed, fully stocked minibar and French bath amenities. The hotel is a favorite for business meetings and, although it offers no spa packages, it’s in a prime location for some of the best shopping and sights in Philadelphia.

This classic hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but that doesn’t mean it’s passé, with 301 fashion-inspired rooms, boutique interiors and edgy designs.
