This Map Shows You the Best (and Worst) US Cities for Music Fans

America has a thriving music scene but it can be hard to know where to head to for the best gigs outside of the major cities.

Luckily, the website valuepenguin.com has compiled a handy map which shows the best and worst places in the US for music fans.
Number one is Nashville, which shouldn’t come as a big surprise seeing as it’s considered the mecca for country music and is even nicknamed ‘Music City, USA’.

But Honolulu in second place and Albany at number six might raise some eyebrows, especially as they outrank more established music cities like New York (26), Los Angeles (27), Chicago (29) and New Orleans (joint 29).
The study looked at a number of different factors including the number of bands per capita and turnout at shows.

The site also ranked the top cities for musicians, with Nashville in the lead again followed by Los Angeles, Boulder, Trenton and Las Vegas.
So, there you have it. If you really love music, you need to move to Nashville.
If it’s good enough for Taylor Swift…
