Culture Trip stands with Black Lives Matter, and seeks to champion the initiatives bringing attention to the movement. Most recently, murals have appeared across streets in the United States carrying its core message.

Across the globe – in all 50 states in the US, as well as in London, Coventry and Newcastle in the UK, and in capital cities like Barcelona, Copenhagen, Cape Town, Lagos and Seoul – protests erupted in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. The message that Black Lives Matter unified these marches, a rallying cry seen on handmade signs and heard in chants.

Now, in the United States, artists have taken to pavements with generous amounts of paint to further broadcast this message. Giant murals have popped up throughout the country – on Los Angeles’ Hollywood Boulevard, Fulton Street in Brooklyn, New York and East Pine Street in Seattle, Washington, among others – with more, including one on Fifth Avenue right outside Trump Tower, set to pop up in the coming weeks. Culture Trip curates some of the most powerful works.
