Artist Creates Sculptures from this Everyday Object and They Are So Satisfying

| © Matt Wilson/ @airtightartworks

There is nothing quite like solving a puzzle and Matt Wilson‘s incredible artwork allows viewers to do just that.

When first viewing his ornate silver sculptures, they appear to be simple but exquisitely done renditions of various animals, but take a closer look and you’ll spot the secret.

The works by the South Carolina-based artisan are constructed entirely from old silverware!

The artist repurposes cutlery by bending and welding it into the shape of birds, seahorses, whales, tigers and even the occasional samurai. Not only is the work recycled but it looks absolutely awesome.

What’s most striking about the series is that despite being made from forks, knives and spoons galore, each piece looks exactly like the subject it’s portraying, and no detail is left out!

It’s no wonder the artist’s Etsy shop is entirely sold out until mid-February 2018! We may need to see if there’s a waiting list!
