An Expert’s Top Tip for Travelling Stress-Free
Travelling, especially by plane, can be as stressful as it is relaxing, with delayed or missed flights, lost luggage and beyond. But there’s one thing that can help ensure your travel experience goes as smoothly as possible.
“Be patient and leave yourself plenty of time,” says Julian Kheel, senior editor at online travel platform The Points Guy (TPG). Kheel travels at least 100,000 miles a year and knows a thing or two about stress-free travel.
“Travel can be very nerve-wracking for a lot of people – especially flying,” he says. “When you’re in a rush trying to catch a flight and something goes wrong, it’s more likely you’re not going to be able to handle it in the way that you want to.”
Being pressed for time means that anything that goes wrong will be made worse, but if you know you have extra time, you’ll be able to handle whatever comes your way with a certain level of zen.
“If you’ve left yourself enough time,” Kheel says, “You can work through the problem calmly and you’re more likely to have a safe and relaxing journey.”
