Little Rock’s midtown area is a lovely, vibrant place any time of the year. Dotted with historical places and monuments, fine restaurants, constant events, and the spirit of typical Southern hospitality, Little Rock has everything. We have put up together a list of its 10 best bars, specifically in the Midtown area.

Little Rock

1. Midtown Billiards

Bowling Alley, Concert Hall, Sports Center

Although known for being a private club, Midtown Billiards offers membership passes at the door. They have great daily drink specials, beer selections and an impressive late night menu. The friendly staff is always at your disposal and if they are not too busy they will be more than happy to open a pool table for you. It is Little Rock ‘s dive bar, and one worth attending if you are in the Midtown area.

2. The Flying Saucer

Pub, Restaurant, American, Vegan, Vegetarian, Wine, Beer

The Flying Saucer is another popular Little Rock bar where a party starts every day and never ends. Their list of beers is endless and their food menu will exceed all of your expectations. Occasionally, they have bands come to play and to cheer the crowd even more. Look for the Blanche De Bruxelles beer – a very light white ale in the Belgium style with a hint of lemon zest, vanilla, and coriander with a complex, dry finish.

3. Ernie Biggs

Bar, Pub Grub, American, Cocktails, Wine, Beer

Ernie Biggs is a Chicago-style dueling bar that will take your breath away. It offers a rich selection of drinks, live music, a dance floor, a cheerful crowd, and strangers that as soon after the party starts become your friends. There are constant shows and contests organized where anyone and everyone is welcome to participate. If you can’t make it to Ernie Biggs at night, you could try swinging by during their Happy Hours.

4. Vino's

Pub, Gastropub, Restaurant, Pizzeria, Pub Grub, Cocktails, Wine, Beer, American

Vino’s is Little Rock’s original brewpub. Vino’s beers are brewed fresh with only natural ingredients. Their flavorful brews emphasize quality and not quantity. Their Shamrock Stout is a rich, full-bodied beer with an oatmeal creaminess. The hoppy flavor with a hint of aromatic honey will stay with you long after you have left the brewery. Vino’s is an excellent place for all beer lovers, but they also serve great food, and it is an overall relaxing pub.

5. Stickyz Rock 'N' Roll Chicken Shack

Market, Restaurant, American, Vegetarian, Vegan

Stickyz Rock ‘N’ Roll Chicken Shack offers typical Southern fried chicken and drinks in an artsy, funky warehouse setting. Located close to the River Market district, you can find it easily by simply following the sounds of the live music that is played there almost every night. The random collection of furniture will make you wonder for a moment, but it only increases the wacky charm of the place. A great place to swing by for a quick drink and some good burgers.

6. The Hillcrest Fountain

Bar, American, Cocktails, Swiss, Beer

Another dive bar, The Hillcrest Fountain, is kind of smokey, loud, and boisterous, but it has excellent service and a great selection of drinks. They don’t have a food menu, but if you are hungry, they have an agreement with the two next door restaurants where you can go and order food, and return to the Fountain to consume it. Their high tables, pool tables and comfy chairs let you relax and enjoy a great evening with friends or family.

7. Cregeen's Irish Pub

Bar, Pub, Irish, Pub Grub, Cocktails, Wine, Beer

The Cregeen’s Irish Pub is a great place to gather after a game, but it is pretty at anytime. Although their food choices are limited, they do serve a variety of beers, ales, whiskeys and ryes. Unlike some other bars in the Midtown area of Little Rock, the Irish Pub offers a smoke-free environment. They take pride in serving a beer like nowhere else in Arkansas and in their craic experience, or “communal fun” – typical of Ireland.

8. Willy D's Piano Bar

Bar, Nightclub, American, Cocktails, Wine, Beer

Willy D’s Piano Bar is the River Market’s most popular night spot and frequently attended by Little Rock’s college students. Their calendar is always full of events where you can either sing along with the dueling pianos at Willy D’s, sit and relax, or watch the game on the big TV screen and socialize with fellow sports fans. In case none of those activities strike your fancy, you could just dance all night at the newly renovated and smoke-free Deep Ultra Lounge. The Willy D’s Piano Bar takes pride in serving the best burgers and wings. Arkansas’ #1 piano show can be found at Willy D’s Dueling Piano Bar, certainly worth seeing.
