The lengua burrito is a popular choice, especially with a splash of hot sauce for those with a special resilience to spice. Melt

Affectionately called Matilda, Melt Food Truck serves the streets of Birmingham with the much loved American classic comfort-food lunch dish – the grilled cheese. A variety of twists on the classic sandwich are available, including the mac melt (homemade mac ‘n’ cheese in a grilled cheese on Texas toast), the honey lavender (smoked ham, monterey jack cheese, honey lavender compound butter on sourdough) and the chive turkey (smoked turkey, chive-blended cheddar, grilled onions and mustard on focaccia). NOLA Ice

A go-to on a hot day or to treat the kids year round, NOLA Ice serves up original New Orleans-style sno-balls in an abundance of flavors. Customers can choose to keep it simple by picking one of the 41 flavors to enjoy on its own, such as the amaretto, bubblegum, banana, pineapple, coffee or watermelon. Those after something a little more experimental can choose one of the pre-created flavor mixes such as sweet tea and lemonade, coconut and pineapple, or spearmint or strawberry, or they can create their own special mix.
