Cardigan’s Public House has a good amount of tasty dishes, beer, and craft cocktails to choose from, and the adults-only atmosphere makes it a great option for a night out. Some of their more popular dishes include their corndogs, burgers (especially the falafel burger), fish and chips, and their flat iron steak. © Rojo

Rojo

You know a restaurant is worthy of a visit when it gets a shout-out from one of the most legendary musicians/songwriters of all time, Bob Dylan. Birmingham’s Rojo, which offers a good mix of Latin and American cuisine, certainly lives up to all of the attention it’s received from its most famous guest. Sit outside on their dog-friendly festive patio while you munch on chips and salsa and sip on their sangria or margaritas. Their happy hour prices are phenomenal, and we recommend trying their Berkley’s chicken tacos, fish tacos, or their basil chicken salad sandwich.

Dram

Dram

This whiskey bar, located beneath its upscale partner restaurant Avo, is a great spot to enjoy some drinks and appetizers before your reservation upstairs or just when you’re in the mood for a casual night out. Dram has a beautiful outdoor patio with string lighting that makes for a fun, intimate experience enjoying tasty bites and craft cocktails featuring whiskey. Be sure to sample their burgers, oysters, and their parmesan fries with rosemary ketchup, and if you happen to visit on a weekend, don’t miss their Sunday brunch. In terms of drinks, their Blackberry Winter cocktail is very popular, and if you don’t do hard liquor, go with one of their wines.

Babalu guacamole

Babalu Tacos & Tapas

The colorful patio, adorned with orange lounge seats and green umbrellas at this restaurant, is perfect for enjoying a tasty meal outside on a warm evening or night. Babalu Tacos & Tapas has a number of locations in the South, but this spot in Birmingham’s Lakeview District is great for enjoying some of their specialties outdoors. The food is mostly Latin American and Mexican, so you may want to pair your table-side prepared guacamole with a margarita to get in the mood. We suggest going with the garlic shrimp and grits, burgers, shrimp tacos, black bean cakes, or short ribs for a fool-proof meal.
