Many big cities boast about their dog-friendly zones, something otherwise deemed unordinary in other situations. While Panama City is still warming up to the idea that dogs are people, too, there are some fantastic Fido-friendly places to come hang out and bring your pup. We’ve gathered the best of them for you.

Beers are better with dogs

Beer lovers are not the only folks who frequent the popular BierGarten in El Cangrejo. Fans of Fido and bringing their own four-legged friends out for happy hour also love this spot, because dogs can only contribute to the fun. Also on offer at this cozy, casual beer house is a great list of cocktails for the not-so-into-beer drinker. This is a favorite hangout spot with chill vibes fit for a great night out with friends of the four-legged variety.

Taboga Island

What’s better than a beach day? A beach day with your dog! Taboga is a dog-friendly beach in Panama that welcomes furry friends of the four-legged variety, too. Why would you opt to leave your pup at home all day when they can come along to soak up the sun and enjoy the Vitamin Sea, too?

Leash-free park zone

What’s better than a park day for a dog? Freedom from the restriction of a leash, of course. Parque Andres Bello in El Cangrejo has a designated dog park area that is fully fenced in and safe to unleash your pup and let him frolic and run around freely and safely.

Hotel paw-ty

If you’re visiting Panama with your pup in tow, you’ll be glad to know the list of fabulous dog-friendly hotels is quite long. On the list is the Trump Ocean Club – and even if you don’t stay there, you can bring your dog to enjoy your beer overlooking the ocean or whatever you fancy. In fact, there are at least 28 dog-friendly hotels in Panama.

Concerts, plays, movies, oh my

One of the most beautiful and popular places that people love to visit in Panama is Parque Omar. There, events are always happening, be it a concert, a play, outdoor movie, etc. Parque Omar is a dog-friendly destination, which means your pup can come along to enjoy the free entertainment regularly put on in Parque Omar.

La Rana Dorada

La Rana Dorada is a wonderful bar in the heart of Panama City with several locations in the hottest areas, from El Cangrejo to Casco Viejo and more. One of the best parts about this place is the outdoor seating that allows for four-legged patrons to enjoy lounging with you. Happy Hour from noon to 6 p.m. offers half off on all craft beers. This is a must-visit for the craft beer lover, as La Rana Dorada is one of Panama’s oldest craft brewers.

Take me to the beach already

One more option for Fido is a plethora of beach options from Playa Veracruz to Playa Venao and Playa Coronado. Lots of beautiful beaches are peppered throughout Panama, and many of them are dog-friendly destinations. If your dog enjoys a good swim or sunbathing, the beach is the place to go for that ocean breeze. It is bliss to the nth degree – for dogs, too!
