Things are looking up in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, with a developed lakeshore promenade and a host of new restaurants and attractions drawing in more visitors. A number of shiny boutique hotels have sprung up to meet this growing demand, and several old favorites have upped their game in response. Here are the best hotels in Managua for every traveler, all bookable with Culture Trip.

The small outdoor pool is perfect for beating the midday heat and is artfully illuminated in the evenings. Gourmet dishes cooked with organic ingredients are available at the elegant glass-fronted Restaurante Azul, and there are several restaurants and fast food options within walking distance. Downtown Managua and the lakeshore area are about 20 minutes away by taxi, and the Masaya volcano is the same.

Simple but spotless rooms look onto the pool and gardens. A complimentary Nica breakfast is served in the thatched El Ranchon restaurant and bar, a popular spot considering other nearby restaurants are a taxi ride away. Profits from the hotel support a number of educational and responsible tourism initiatives in Nicaragua through an NGO.
