The beautiful sun, sea and sand of The Bahamas creates a unique set of views, and the country’s beaches are regarded as some of the most beautiful in the world. Here are some of the best scenic drives the country has to offer, on land and sea.

Pink Sands Beach, Harbour Island

Foraminifera, a microscopic marine animal with a bright pink or red shell, inhabit the sand on this beach. Their presence in the sand gives it a light-pinkish colour as well as its name. In addition to the pink sand, this beach also has healthy vegetation and clear blue water that makes for an excellent view.

Cable Beach

Located a few miles west of the capital and spanning for over two and a half miles, Cable Beach offers a beautiful ocean view as well as first-class luxury resorts, golf courses and the largest casino in The Bahamas to date. Visitors will also get to see water sports such as jet skiing, parasailing and banana boat rides in action.

Located east of the resort area of Cable Beach, Saunders Beach makes a great second stop for those following this list in order. The beach’s tropical trees create a gorgeous view—especially at sunset—and because it is often less crowded than Cable Beach, visitors also get a clearer view of the oceanfront.

4. Fort Montagu

Fort Montagu

Constructed in 1741 to help defend the country from invaders, Fort Montagu remains the oldest fort still standing on the island of New Providence. It is located at the eastern end of Nassau Harbour. Tour guides also conduct tours Monday through Sunday from 8am to 3pm.

Self-Drive Boat Adventures

Much of what the Bahamas has to offer includes its beaches and its waters, which can best be experienced via boat.
