Bar+ is a high-quality private karaoke bar where you can sing and drink from 5pm (3pm on Friday and Saturday) to 3am. Be sure to make a reservation for large groups (this is highly recommended as spaces fill up quickly on the weekends) — smaller groups are welcome to come on a first-come, first-serve basis. Drinks are plentiful from beer to wine along with food such as fries and chicken wings. With a searchable song list online, checking which songs to sing before going is a bonus so you can fit in that last song you almost forgot to sing without running out of time. Rather than using a remote similar to a TV, Bar+ offers Android tablets to search and queue songs instead of scavenging a heavy binder to find a song code. The most interesting perk of Bar+ is their own mobile app for Android and iOS. Installing the app allows you to search for songs, add a favorite list, and queue songs to your karaoke room via free Wi-Fi. Needless to say, this is a popular location for karaoke with groups in downtown Toronto. Comparing to other private karaoke rooms, Bar+ has one of the most modern and efficient rooms around for karaoke.

Twister Karaoke

Bar, Canadian, Korean

Among the Korean community uptown at Finch and Yonge, Twister Karaoke is the most popular private karaoke joint in the area. Although a bit of a trek (a minute walk from Finch station), it’s worth it during their weekday happy hour special. For the price of two hours, one additional hour is given free of charge (or pay one hour, get thirty minutes free) from 2pm-1am. While the rooms are on the smaller side and it can get a bit warm, you’re here for the karaoke. If you want to take a break from singing for a few minutes, Twister offers drinks and small snacks. A 6-for-1 drink special (weekdays only excluding Friday) of your choice of beer could be just what you need to quench your thirst from singing. Grab your friends, choose your songs, and get singing.

Every Thursday, host Steve-O holds a karaoke night on the second floor in their karaoke lounge. The Groove Bar and Grill

Bar, Canadian

The Groove offers all-day breakfast, along with other food like chili cheese fries, chicken souvlaki on pita or the pork sofrito dinner. Add in a $6.00 pint, and you have a delicious affordable dinner lineup ending with karaoke. Located on Danforth, close to Woodbine station, the area at night has a slower and more relaxed pace and makes for a good spot to relax with some close friends.

The Beaver Café

Bar, Pub Grub

The Beaver Café serves lunch each day until 3:30pm and dinner alongside late-night drinks until 3am. With a modest menu (done right), Beaver Café features dishes like the BBQ tofu sandwich and roasted beet salad. The Beaver parties each night with a live DJ spinning various genres. Karaoke nights are offered on Sunday evenings, and have a reputation for energetic dancing among karaoke-goers. Hosted by a rotation of people, the song list from Adam’s library satisfies all singers. This NYC-inspired café is well known among the LGBT community in Toronto and makes for an excellent night of dancing and singing.

Echo Karaoke and Bar

Bar, Pub Grub

Echo Karaoke and Bar is a well-hidden karaoke place with just a simple neon sign on the second floor of a multi-business building. Open from 3pm to 3am, Echo Karaoke has happy hours at 3pm to 9pm every day for just $10.00. As a plus, this private-room karaoke bar serves a fruit platter to share with friends for free! Echo Karaoke is the most modern private karaoke with neon-ambient lighting. Rooms are nicely lit, with flat-screen TVs larger than most karaoke rooms. The unique aspect of Echo is the system with which to select songs. While menus and navigation take effort to learn, it seems advanced with a touch screen, complete with a user-interface of its own. Song selections are great for classic rock and pop singers, so buy some drinks, queue some songs, and sing the night away!
