PEI is considered one of the world’s best kiteboarding destinations due to its geography and temperature swings, which make it one of the windiest spots in Canada. Here are some of the best spots to check out for kiteboarding.

PEI

North Rustico

As goes for almost all watersports in PEI, including windsurfing and paddling, North Rustico is the place to go to for kiteboarding.

PEI

Cavendish

Next to North Rustico, you’ll find plenty of kiteboarding opportunities around the tourist hub of Cavendish. Conditions are great, and there are a number of reputable tour companies in the area.

PEI

Malpeque Bay

Every Labour Day weekend, kiteboarders from across Canada flock to Malpeque Bay for an annual kiteboarding competition. The conditions here make it a great spot for all levels!

Basin Head Beach

If you find yourself along the island’s east coast, head to Basin Head Beach. The spot draws lots of visitors during the summer, but if you walk up the beach, you’ll find fewer crowds and great surf conditions. Nearby Souris Beach is another great option.

PEI

Victoria-by-the-Sea

Along PEI’s south shore, you’ll find the charming town of Victoria-by-the-Sea, nestled between Charlottetown and Summerville. This spot is popular for all water sports including kiteboarding, windsurfing, paddling, and sailing.

Check out the Local Kite Spots website for locations and conditions!
