Ski Martock
Ski Martock is located less than an hour from Halifax, and it’s a great place for families to enjoy a day on the slopes. It has seven relatively easy trails spread out over the hill and offers a quad chairlift, bunny hill, T-bars, chalet, and more.
Ski Wentworth
Ski Wentworth is another great destination, and while it is farther from Halifax, you’ll find more trails and activities here than at Ski Martock. With 249 meters (816 feet) of vertical height, the ski resort offers 20 alpine trails as well as cross-country ski and snowshoe trails.
Ski Ben Eoin
If you’re in Cape Breton, head to the island’s winter resort, Ski Ben Eoin. Located just 20 minutes from Sydney, the hill offers 11 trails as well as a snowboard park and cross-country ski and snowshoe trails.
Ski Tuonela
In 2017, Ski Tuonela was named one of the top 25 cross-country ski resorts in Canada. It’s also the Maritimes only serviced Telemark ski area and lies on Cape Breton’s famous Cabot Trail.
Ski Cape Smokey
Ski Cape Smokey is a bit of a hidden gem, and it’s currently run by volunteers after closing its doors as a business in 2006. It’s the highest ski hill in the province, at 305 meters (1,001 feet) in height, and only has a few trails open due to it being fully operated by volunteers.
