Fat Buddah Yoga, The Hoxton Hotel

Building, Yoga Studio

With a newly opened location in Paris and existing spots in Amsterdam, Holborn and Shoreditch, The Hoxton has never been more hip. So much more than a place to sleep, it hosts an innovative, inspirational calendar of events including yoga sessions at the Shoreditch branch with the eternally-cool founder of Fat Buddah Yoga, Jessica Skye. Book the Sunday morning ‘Rehab’ for the ultimate detox session where you’ll be lead through a series of postures that will help you to feel refreshed and energised for a new week. The hotel’s interiors are like a Pinterest board come to life, all dark wood and minimal design details. Make the most of the space and book in for a bite to eat (or a cocktail) after the session – they do a mean flat white and an Instagram-worthy avocado toast to boot.

Sunrise Yoga, Sky Garden

Building, Yoga Studio, Park, Natural Feature

Is there anything more appealing than the thought of a morning yoga session overlooking the London skyline? Sky Garden, one of the city’s most picturesque hotspots, be it for drinks, dinner or a spot to marvel at the views, is offering just that, with sunrise sessions at 6.30am from Tuesday-Friday, 8am on Saturdays and 8.30am on Sundays. Lead by various London yoga instructors and set in an iconic indoor oasis 36 floors up, it provides a blissful calm that seems worlds away from the madness of central London below. Book with a friend for a weekend session and follow it up with a buffet brunch at Sky Pod Bar to make the most of your time at this versatile, world-famous space.

Sophie’s Fitness, Bluebird

Restaurant, British

Located on the King’s Road with a newly-revamped interior and a reputation as one of West London’s most favoured dining establishments, Bluebird is well worth a visit. Monthly at 6.30pm, it hosts Sophie Dear from Sophie’s Fitness who leads an hour’s Vinyasa Flow yoga practise in the alternative but picturesque space. The session focuses on moving with the breath as well as building on strength, flexibility and balance. Post-stretch, students are invited to enjoy a tapas-style dinner in the restaurant. If there’s a better way to blend exercise, food and socialising then we’re yet to come across it. Book now to secure your spot for the November event.

Hotpod Yoga, various locations

Yoga Studio

The Hotpod Yoga concept started as a means of bringing hot yoga to the people of London as opposed to the other way around, with the purple pop-up spaces setting up short residencies in various spots across the capital. Novel, eye-catching and most of all, convenient, they now have permanent locations in Notting Hill, Brixton and Hackney. Classes are based around the Vinyasa Flow practice and take place inside an intimate, dome-shaped space with inflatable walls and a warming purple glow that will fill you with just the right amount of 90s nostalgia (we all remember the era of the blow-up chair). If you’re after something a little different that doesn’t compromise on quality, then this might just be what you’re looking for.

Acres, Shoreditch

Building, Concert Hall

Providing the ultimate escapism from the madness of city life, 42 Acres in Shoreditch is a specially designed retreat and co-working space inspired by its sister location in Somerset. Whatever you’re there for, you only have to step foot inside the vast, exposed-brick space to understand exactly what makes it so special. The location hosts yoga workshops (among other activities) and on Sunday 12th November, they’ll be hosting VOLO – a vegan yoga brunch run by Sanchia Legister. The session promises a soulful Vinyasa Flow to great music and a shareable vegan brunch feast to follow. Expect to feel uplifted, refreshed, reset and inspired.

Yogasphere, The Shard

Bridge

Sensing a trend here? There’s a lot to be said for a class with a view over one of the most bustling cities in Europe. Yogasphere has a space on the 24th floor of The Shard, where its founder, Mandy Jhamat, leads a beautiful, restorative session to leave the stresses of the day behind. The monthly hour-long session ends with a meditative sound bath which, if you weren’t already feeling super relaxed, will be the icing on the cake.

Aerial Yoga, Gymbox

Whilst Gymbox’s aerial yoga classes may not be set in Instagram’s favourite restaurant or overlooking a beautiful cityscape, they’re worth a mention in this particular round-up as we defy anyone to attend a class and not take out their camera. That counts as picturesque right? The concept here is exciting – classes take place in hammocks suspended from the ceiling, allowing you to hold the more challenging poses with more ease than if your feet were grounded. You can push your body to new limits, giving you that much-needed confidence boost when you return to your regular sessions.
