An Augmented Reality Cocktail Bar Menu Has Come to London
So it turns out you’ll be hallucinating before all the bubbles hit your head – and no, we’re not complaining at all.
Yes citizens of the world, art, booze and views for days have hit London’s City Social bar and it’s absolutely incredible. The menu, put together by foodie maestro Jason Atherton, combines iconic art with fabulous cocktails. As you can imagine, the results are pretty spectacular.
So, how does it all work? Once you ascend the glitzy floors of Tower 42, you’ll be encouraged to download the Mirage app on your phone (don’t worry, it’s free and you won’t have to pay a single penny for the WiFi connection either) that’s been created to work interactively with all the stunning cocktails. You’ll then have to point the app towards your drink of choice, and VOILA! Booze + tech = art.
Examples? Order a Sashay and expect the champagne tipple to morph into Art Nouveau. Or order a gin-based Dogstone Brew and see a load Victorian artworks, lots of pretty balloons and the odd elephant.
Van goghing. Van gone. Van done.
Fancy trying one for yourself? Grab yours at Tower 42, 25 Old Broad St, London EC2N 1HQ!
