Tucked away down a side street in the Northern Quarter is North Tea Power. This cosy coffee shop has a wooden, rustic décor and friendly service. They have more than just Americanos and lattes, offering a range of specialty coffees from single origin beans to specialty blends. They have free Wi-Fi, making it a relaxing space to get a little work done. They also serve alcohol, in case your day just turns into one of those where you need to substitute a coffee for beer.

Manchester city centre’s original cycle café, Popup Bikes, is home to indoor cycle parking, a cycle repair shop, and a coffee shop. All of their coffee is fair-trade, sourced directly from the producer, freshly ground, and roasted locally. The house coffee is the Warehouse City Seasonal Espresso blend, and they also have a guest Single Origin Espresso available. Bikes are not required, but Popup Bikes does provide a safe space to park your bike while you have a cup of coffee or wander the city.

TAKK is a coffee shop located in the Northern Quarter that attracts creative types during the week and the shopping crowd on the weekends. Inspired by the owners’ travels throughout Scandinavia and Iceland, the shop has a Nordic theme and an open layout without tables crammed together, leaving you space to work and talk and let your creativity flow. They serve their own Nordic Style espresso, the North Projekt, and they feature guest espresso from some of the best roasters in Europe.

Grindsmith

On Greengate Square you will find a small wooden box, which is Grindsmith’s coffee pod. The Grindsmith pod was funded through Kickstarter and was designed to allow customers to be a part of the coffee-creation process. Customers are treated to passionate explanations of different brewing methods and a fantastic cup of coffee. With the success of this clever pod, Grindsmith has even expanded to, in contrast, an exceedingly large space on Deansgate so that you can get the same great coffee maybe just a little closer to work.

Pot Kettle Black

Pot Kettle Black coffee is meticulously sourced; only the best blends and single origin brews are selected to maximize the flavors of the coffee bean. They make sure to only buy lighter and more delicate roasts. In the end, what Pot Kettle Black offers you is the perfectly brewed cup of coffee, carefully made with cutting edge machinery, brewing methods, grind consistencies, and extraction times. All that you have to do is drink and enjoy.
