Turkey has proven to be one of our most popular destinations since we launched our curated, small group trips and its easy to see why. From the bazaars of Istanbul to the beautiful beaches of Antalya, the country sits on the crossroads between Europe, Asia and Africa. Here’s a fascinating look at what Onur – our Local Insider on the ground – has lined up for you.

Culture Trip’s CEO Ana Jakimovska has visited Turkey a number of times, and has fallen in love with the country. Experienced traveller Onur first started with guided walking tours and has been in the industry for more than 20 years. Using all the experience he has gained over the last two decades, Onur has helped us put together a Majestic Turkey itinerary which includes popular highlights and hidden gems.

Onur is a genuine expert on all things Turkey

“We start in Istanbul, where two continents meet. It’s a big vibrant city and it gives you a good chance to see both the history and the modern side of Turkey. It’s a unique start”, Onur explains.

“Then we go further inland to the capital, Ankara, for a different side of the country. And then we go to one of my real highlights – Cappadocia is both culturally and geographically very special. It is breathtaking.”

With three nights in Cappadocia, Onur tells us that he feels like the Culture Trip itinerary is one that lets you absorb and digest the places you visit, unlike many other tours.

Other highlights from our Majestic Turkey trip include

An overland journey across Turkey, stopping at key historical sites
Seize the opportunity for a Cappadocia hot-air balloon ride
Hike through the Red and Rose valleys
Go river rafting in the Koprulu Canyon National Park
Swim in the turquoise waters off the sunny Antalya coast
