The relaxed town of Montreux hugs the shore of Lac Léman in western Switzerland. But don’t let this tranquil veneer fool you, the town hosts the Montreux Jazz Festival every summer, which is one of the best festivals in the country. If you plan on visiting, make sure that you pass by these cafés for some coffee or cake.

Zurcher

With a history stretching back over one hundred years, Zurcher is a mainstay of the Montreux café scene. Chocolate, pastries and ice cream are all on the menu in their cosy ‘Parisian’ tea room, as well as the best cup of coffee that you’ll find in town. For an extra treat, try the house specialty hot chocolate.

This charming little tea room can be found in Montreux’s old town. While you enjoy your delicious tea or coffee along with something from the all too tempting patisseries options, you can look out over the rooftops of Montreux all the way down to Lac Léman.
