Stockholm is a great shopping city, even for the unseasoned shopper simply looking for souvenirs! Offering sustainable fashion, innovative and modern design where fantastic form and functionality meet, these shops are a hit with Stockholmers and visitors. Here is the essential shortlist of Stockholm souvenir and design shops not-to-miss.

Design Torget

This unique design shop, which has expanded into several shops, highlights up-and-coming designers and shifts its stock regularly. You can find everything from one-off jewellery pieces to unique glassware and Swedish games, and pretty much anything else the creative Swedish mind can think up. It’s a treasure trove of unique items that the people you know are very unlikely to have come across.

Handverkargatan Arton

Art Gallery, Shop

This is the flagship store for the iconic Dahlgren Stockholm design souvenirs and the first college-style Kungsholmen collection started by the artist Malin Nordström. Maria Holmer Dahlgren is one of the founders of Swedish stationery store Ordning & Reda. Her goal with the souvenir collection was to create beautiful, everyday art pieces people can have in their homes. The array of products is wonderfully practical and made to survive travel. Make time to visit the shop and explore Malin Nordström’s modern and fun silver jewellery collection and art prints by the popular graphic designer Miss Lefty. For the creatively inclined, a new must-have item at Handverkagatn Arton is the Stockholm Colouring Book by Patrik Berg. Opening hours, as with most Stockholm businesses, are scarce in July, the favourite summer holiday month for Swedes. The online shop stocks all the goodies and they can be sent to you via post. Extra room in your bags for more shopping, perhaps?

Hasbeen

Store

Hasbeen

Swedish shoe manufacturer Hasbeen has been (see what we did there?) making vintage-inspired shoes and putting a modern spin on them. Even better, they’re all about sustainability. Handmade and respectful of the environment, this is the perfect way to get that Scandi look while knowing you’re doing some good in this crazy world.
