The Best Hotels With Swimming Pools in the Canary Islands

At over 500 rooms, this high-end resort complex is one of the largest on the island of Gran Canaria. It is nestled in 10 acres (4ha) of pretty gardens practically overlooking the dramatic dunes of Maspalomas. And this makes for particularly impressive views from the hotel’s infinity-edge pool, which also provides submerged loungers from which to gaze out to sea. Aesthetically, it’s far from shabby, too, thanks to its attractive lagoon style with rock-lined sections and fountains, plus access via a dramatic sweeping staircase. And there are, in fact, four other pools to choose from, one of which is a lovely spa pool with swan necks, water jets and whirlpools. Plus, if you tire of pools, the beautiful Playa del Duque is a short walk from the main complex, and hotel guests have exclusive access to beach huts and watersports facilities.

The pool at this five-star apartment complex combines an impressive size with an infinity edge, which offers fabulous views of the (albeit rather distant) Atlantic Ocean. It is also trimmed with attractive green mosaic and offers a swim-up bar area serving – among other things – excellent cocktails.
