Barcelona is world-famous for its artistic heritage: Gaudí, Picasso, Miró, to name a few. But what about the artists of today? Those who nobody knows of just yet, but may be the future masters of tomorrow? Here, Culture Trip select eight of the best galleries in Barcelona to discover up-and-coming artists.

The Blue Project Foundation is a multidisciplinary art venue where all who enter its doors are invited to reflect upon contemporary art in an open and respectful manner. It’s also a place of creation thanks to the residency program that enables young artists to develop and grow with the support of the foundation. And did we mention that it’s home to one of the most popular vegan cafés in town?

A wonderfully understated art gallery, Project SD is best known for its innovative program, whereby it seeks to establish relationships between young, up-and-coming artists and artists who are already more established. The idea is that by establishing a dialogue between emergent and renowned artists, they hope to foster discussion and the creation of innovative new art forms. Project SD also aims to work with artists’ books and is home to a growing collection of these editions, especially those of artists with whom they have collaborated.

4. EtHall Gallery

EtHall Gallery [Juande Jarillo]

Located in the heart of the vibrant Raval neighborhood, EtHall is a small gallery dedicated entirely to contemporary drawing.
