Sésamo

Restaurant, Vegetarian, $$

Chef Alfredo at Sésamo

This popular vegetarian restaurant is famous for its great-value tasting menu – €25 per person for seven courses and two drinks – but salad-lovers should go à la carte and try the chef’s special. You never quite know what to expect, as chef Alfredo changes the salad regularly to include whatever latest ingredient he’s brought back from his travels or what he found in the market that morning. One thing that’s sure is that you won’t go hungry or get bored.

Teresa Carles

Restaurant, Vegetarian, Healthy, $$
The namesake restaurant of Catalan clean-eating chef Chef Teresa Carles Borràs, this trendy restaurant is located just minutes from Plaça Catalunya. One of the reasons Teresa Carles is so popular during the week is because people know this is the place to come for your veg-fix. The DIY salad bar allows you to choose all your favourite ingredients to compose the salad you fancy.

Les Tres A La Cuina

Restaurant, Contemporary, Healthy, $
This Gràcia eatery has rapidly become a locals’ favourite thanks to its tasty, healthy lunches, which can also be ordered to be taken away or delivered to your office. Creative, tasty and filling, their salads are about way more than just lettuce leaves. Spiced chickpeas, slow-roasted tomatoes and freshly turned artichokes are just some of the treats you can expect here.

Federal Café

Cafe, Contemporary, $$
If Federal Café is best known for being one of the first places to introduce brunch to the city – and a trailblazer on the now oh-so-trendy Parlament Street – this hip café also makes some pretty mean salads. Theirs an underlying Middle-Eastern theme to much of what’s on offer, with cooked and fresh salads equally as tasty.

The Green Spot

Restaurant, Contemporary, Healthy, $$
This stylish vegetarian eatery has jumped straight onto the healthy bandwagon to offer sophisticated, contemporary cuisine that won’t leave you feeling guilty. The dishes are as tasty as they are visually enticing, with a choice of fresh mixed salads that are more than just a pile of random superfoods. The sweet-potato ‘tagliatelle’ was chosen as one of the best local dishes of the year by TimeOut.

Veggie Garden

Restaurant, Vegan, $
Another of the most popular – and affordable – vegan restaurants in Barcelona, Veggie Garden is tucked away in busy El Raval. If the restaurant is particularly popular for its fragrant curries, there’s also a selection of salads that are just as interesting and come packed with tasty vegan ingredients and start at just €6.50.
