The Coolest Hotels in Pamplona

Updated: 30 May 2017

The Navarran capital of Pamplona makes for a great city break at any time of year, particularly in July during the San Fermín Festival. There are many accommodation options to choose from in Pamplona, but if you really want a memorable stay, why not stay at one of our picks of the coolest hotels in the city?

Pamplona Catedral Hotel

The Pamplona Catedral Hotel is a four-star hotel located in Pamplona’s Old Town, next to the Portal de Francia – the entrance for pilgrims journeying along the Camino de Santiago – and the Catedral de Santa María la Real. It’s housed in an old converted convent, yet inside it’s modern, contemporary and graceful. The rooms are simple and elegant, decorated in tones of lemon, chocolate and lavender with soft furnishings in leather. The hotel also offers bike rental services and tours of the city walls.

Hotel Palacio Guendulain

Housed in an 18th-century palace, the Hotel Palacio Guendulain  is one of the most beautiful buildings in Pamplona. In 1845 Queen Isabel II even stayed here, briefly turning it into a royal residence. With just 25 rooms, it is filled with sumptuous elements such as chandeliers and grand staircases. There’s also an elegant bar on the terrace and a gourmet restaurant.

Gran Hotel La Perla

The five-star Gran Hotel La Perla is one of the most elegant and luxurious hotels in the city. Choose to stay here and you’ll be in good company with the likes of Ernest Hemingway, Orson Welles and Charlie Chaplin having been guests here in the past. Its rooms are even inspired by them – imagine staying in the Ernest Hemingway room in the city that meant so much to the author. Completely remodelled in 2007, its 44 rooms look out on either the famous Calle Estafeta or the Plaza del Castillo, so it’s a perfect place to stay during the San Fermín Festival (Running of the Bulls).

Muga de Beloso – Alma Pamplona

The Muga de Beloso – Alma Pamplona is located on the outskirts of the city in a grand contemporary building, surrounded by parkland, trees and gardens. Its rooms have a very modern feel with lots of wood and tiles, neutral black and white shades, and large floor-to-ceiling windows, which seem to bring the outdoors, in. Visitors also have the luxury of a spa, gym and onsite restaurant.

Hotel Tres Reyes

Situated just a few steps from Pamplona’s old Citadel, the Hotel Tres Reyes occupies a great position. Its 160 rooms are divided into five different categories, offering classic, family rooms, suites, executive or panoramic rooms. Classic in their designs, they are all decorated in neutral shades and offer comfy leather seating. As well as its own convention centre, the hotel has an excellent restaurant, located on the mezzanine floor, and serving set menus of the day featuring specialities from Navarra and the Basque Country.

Hotel NH Pamplona Iruña Park

The four-star Hotel NH Pamplona Iruña Park can be found near Pamplona’s Parque de Yamaguchi, a Japanese-inspired park filled with bridges, fountains and ponds. The hotel was completely renovated in 2015 and has 213 rooms with beautiful vistas of the surrounding parks. Its interior decor is stylish and simple with light colours of white and beige, and polished wooden floors. As well as meeting rooms and a casual cafe for evening drinks, there’s the Restaurante Gayarre, serving everything from tapas to pizzas, sandwiches and burgers.

AC Hotel Ciudad de Pamplona

The AC Hotel Ciudad de Pamplona is located just south of the city centre, close to the Museo Universidad de Navarra, contemporary art museum. Modern and stylish, its 108 rooms are dressed in white with lots of wood, and furniture in charcoal colours. Guests will also benefit from a sleek lounge and bar area.
