The main street of the city is for sure a huge attraction to tourists who flock here to visit the major sightseeing attractions, as well as locals who love to strand along this street on weekends, enjoying the beauty of the city. There are numerous restaurants located on Nevsky Prospect, and below are Culture Trip’s favourites.

1. Russian Empir

Restaurant, Russian

Located in luxurious building of Stroganoff Palace, the Russian Empir restaurant is a place to enjoy the spirit of empire Russia, and indulge your senses with the tastes of Russian cuisine. The building itself is also impressive – a true gem of Russian Baroque style, constructed under the supervision of Italian architect Francesco Rastrelli.

2. Mama Na Dache

Restaurant, Russian, European

This cozy place was created to surround its guests with the relaxing, almost a home-feeling atmosphere. Located right on Nevsky Prospect, Mama Na Dache offers home cuisine, 200 sitting places, several halls, and live music each weekend.

3. Las Torres

Restaurant, Spanish

Those who have been walking around Nevsky at least once for sure have noticed this place – you can always hear some Spanish or Latin-American music emanating from there. A well-known place, Las Torres is offering Spanish cuisine paired with some great wines of the country.

5. Marcelli’s

Restaurant, Italian

Marcelli’s menu is based on the classics of Italian cuisine, and all dishes are prepared from natural products. The concept of the restaurant is excluding any pre-cooked products, synthetic additions etc – even all pasta is handmade there. In summer, they also have a great outdoor terrace on the street.

6. Biblioteka

Cafe, Restaurant, Asian, European, Russian

For those who aren’t sure which cuisine they want to try today, Biblioteka is the answer. Occupying the space on several floors of the building on Nevsky, Biblioteka offers a variety of tastes and cuisines: European, Asian and Russian dishes are mixed there naturally in a great and tasty fusion.

7. Kriek Brasserie

Pub, Restaurant, Belgian

A great mix of Belgian cuisine and a huge selection of Belgian beers is offered at Kriek. The founders of this place and the team of chefs have done their best to recreate the atmosphere of a Belgian brasserie.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
