Modern-day Warsaw is full of swanky new pads, glamorous skyscrapers and state-of-the-art shopping malls. It’s a far cry from the bygone days when grey communist housing blocks dominated the city’s skyline. Instead of a conventional hotel experience during your stay, why not try the comfort and privacy of an apartment instead? Here’s our list of the best holiday pads in Poland’s capital.

The Exclusive Aparthotel group now offers luxury apartments in numerous countries around the world. These modern condos are a treat for the business-minded traveller or luxury explorer. Centrally located opposite Warsaw’s iconic Palace of Culture and Science, (and just round the corner from Świętokrzyska metro station) it’s a short walk along the Royal Route to the famous Krakowskie Przedmieście, a street famous for its shopping and culture. What’s more, you’ll feel like you’re sleeping in your second (boutique) home – not just another faceless corporate hotel.

If the view alone isn’t enough to persuade you, the plush interiors with original artwork and comfortable furniture certainly will. Enjoy the restaurants, cafes and bars on the surrounding streets – or cook dinner at home; all the apartments make self-catering easy with their fully-equipped kitchens.

Designed by local architect Jems, Warsaw Design Apartments are perfect if you’re looking for somewhere central but unconventional to stay. You’ll find them in the popular Wola district, and they offer great value for money alongside comfort and quality. One of the biggest thrills for culture vultures, however, is the fact that most of the interiors feature graffiti by a well-known Warsaw-based graphic artist – so you can get to know the quirks of the city without leaving home.

5. SleepWell Apartments Ordynacka

The biggest selling point here, however, is the charm of the decor: palaces indeed, each room features exposed brick walls, four-poster beds and tiled floors, and comes with a TV, small fridge and Nespresso coffee machine. Outside you’ll find a plethora of bars, cafes and restaurants with enticing menus from all over the world.

In addition to exploring the narrow streets – (as its name would suggest) there’s a wide selection of bars, cafes and restaurants to tickle your tastebuds. Quality beds and soft towels are guaranteed, as is a welcome pack for every guest. The staff here are happy to help organise transport to and from all nearby airports, train and bus stations in the city.
