Berlin to Budapest: The Best of Central Europe by Train

Central Europe is not short of literary history, and the romance of this border-crossing 10-day Rail Trip feels itself like like something from an early 20th-century novel. Don’t forget to pack a few books to read on the train. We recommend bringing something by the great Franz Kafka, since our first stop after Berlin is the capital of Czechia, Prague. Kafka, one of the most important and influential figures in 20th-century literature, was born near the Old Town Square and raised in the city’s old Jewish Quarter. You’ll get a guided tour of the city’s beautiful medieval streets and have enough free time to visit the brilliant Kafka Museum, which not only offers a great insight into his works, but also into the upbringing that made him the writer he was. He also spent time in Berlin and actually died near the next stop on our tour, Vienna.
