Corfu, a wonderful island in the Ionian Sea, was shaped by the mixture of cultures that consecutively dominated the area. Here the human element combines harmoniously with lush landscapes and amazing beaches. Many tourists are attracted by the beauty of this Greek island, leading to rapid growth of tourist infrastructure. Read on for some of the best hotels on the island of the Phaeacians.

Domes Miramare Corfu

Resort, Hotel, Luxury

Once the hotel of choice for Jackie O and Maria Callas, Domes Miramare still delivers luxury, but with amenities that surpass 21st-century traveller expectations. White-washed walls, marble finishes, mosaic-tiled ensuites with walk-in showers and outdoor patios come as standard; the VIP experience brings private swimming pools and jacuzzis that look over the Ionian Sea. Attentive service results in a bespoke itinerary of experiences, and this personalisation trickles down to the spa, where tailor-made treatments are delivered with prestigious products, such as Elemis and Codage Paris. For a memorable experience, board the Miramaretta for a coastline boat ride.

Boukari Beach Accommodation

Independent Hotel, Apartment

Consisting of four types of accommodation, Boukari caters to every holiday type. If you don’t want to be far from the beach, Villa Lucia has two-bedroom apartments by the coastline. Favour sunset-watching from the confines of your holiday home? The Villa Alexandra apartments have sea-view balconies. If you’re up for spontaneous adventures, stay at Hotel Penelope: the Vlachopoulos family, who run the hotel, have bikes for guests to ride along the shoreline. Finally, Villa Boukari Beach sits near the family restaurant, where a tasting of Mama Lucia’s lobster in special Corfu sauce shouldn’t be missed.

Rodostamo Hotel & Spa

Spa Hotel, Hotel, Luxury

Situated in the enchanting Kommeno bay, you’ll struggle to find better views. Admire the rays reflecting off the Ionian Sea while swimming in the hotel pool, or while in the jacuzzi of the Panorama Bungalow suite. But nothing can quite beat the glistening sight of the night-lit bay, to be viewed while consuming the local, fresh fish of the day at RR-Rodostamo restaurant. Olive trees, fuschia-adorned white exteriors and a lookout onto the historic Ypapanti Chapel provide further social-feed fodder.

The Rou Estate

Hotel

Those who want an authentic Corfiot countryside experience without having to compromise on modern luxuries needn’t look any further. Nestled in the hills above the Ionian Sea, in the northeast of the island, The Rou Estate was an abandoned hamlet until British architect Dominic Skinner and his Dutch wife Claire reestablished it into a village in the 21st century. Now, the traditional houses have been converted into splendid villas, where exposed stone walls, cobbled patios and traditional fireplaces are juxtaposed against standalone baths and, in some villas, infinity pools. The gardens and views over the Albanian mountains opposite the island further enforce the relaxing refuge vibe.

Bella Venezia

Hotel

Connect with like-minded people on our premium trips curated by local insiders and with care for the world

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
